Sony A500
- A100/200/300/350 sized body - max shutter speed 1/4000s - 12mp CMOS - ISO expanded up to 12800 - 9 AF point with double cross center - 2 LV mode - main sensor (manual focus only?) & dedicated sensor - 5 fps - 3" LCD, but medium resolution - expanded DRO levels up to DRO+5 - uses SD & MS card - new grip VG-B50AM could be well compete with Nikon D90 series This post has been edited by soulfly: Aug 25 2009, 11:47 AM |

QUOTE(achew @ Aug 25 2009, 11:48 AM) seems like confirmed spec. there might be other details as well but still unknown at the moment.A550 still unknown. There's spec for A850 as well which will be priced much cheaper than A900. Changes are such as - different top panel for housing (not fully magnesium alloy like A900) - 3fps (but still have dual bionz) - viewfinder coverage 98% at 0.74x magnification (A900 has 100%) - some alteration to in-camera functions |

QUOTE(Sp00kY @ Aug 25 2009, 11:54 AM) sigh....I prefer CF too.... Sony might probably choose to follow other makers, semi-pro and above body use CF, lower bodies use SDerh...I wonder if they are using the same AF system from A700 or not.... agree, good to have but not a must to have.. yeah, better IQ, and performance is more important to me ) A700 has 11-AF points, while the A500 will have 9, but it will have double cross center AF point just like A700. But sadly, no red beam assist light to help shooting under low light. Ahh.... So my predictions seem to be right so far...
The A500 is indeed the A100's true successor. Just a tad under the specs of the A700 and will compete at the price point for the D90 range. I forsee that the true A700 replacement (and hopefully will be Sony's APS-C flagship) will come next year and will probably have more kick-ass features. Expect to pay around RM5k for this monster. A850 - budget FF to cater for those who wanna go FF on a shoestring (hey! it rhymes!). The A900 will remain as FF flagship until a replacement comes (end of next year, maybe). |

QUOTE(millenia3000 @ Aug 25 2009, 03:51 AM) thanks man I'm a bit confused before with the normal 8R size because I need to crop it due to the different ratio from the usual 4R size (6x4 in) & native dslr 3:2 ratio. i found this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_phot...hic_print_sizes It turns out that it's called S8R..Super8R This post has been edited by alpha_company: Aug 25 2009, 12:31 PM |
