i don have this problem...maybe my sig 1020 got a better hood...to cut the flare..

but i believe it won preform like Hoya Pro-1D or B+W...how much u pay how much u got la...

since my sig 1020 is not my daily walk around lens and only for landscape when travel...so i don see why i need to invest few hundred more on it.

its always good to have..but how often we gonna use the vid function...if i had a choice..i rather they give me better IQ or cheaper rather than having vid function...i have friends using d90 and 5DII  but i dont see them taking vid at all..lol..other than a few vid to tryout when they just bought the camera...
*
agree...video in DSLR to me is nono if it add up costing and reduce IQ

Ahh.... So my predictions seem to be right so far...

The A500 is indeed the A100's true successor. Just a tad under the specs of the A700 and will compete at the price point for the D90 range.

I forsee that the true A700 replacement (and hopefully will be Sony's APS-C flagship) will come next year and will probably have more kick-ass features. Expect to pay around RM5k for this monster.

A850 - budget FF to cater for those who wanna go FF on a shoestring (hey! it rhymes!). The A900 will remain as FF flagship until a replacement comes (end of next year, maybe).
*
A500 or A700...??? lot of A200 and A3XX user will think of this now...

so using exactly the same processor..i'd assume that the IQ would be exactly the same right..lol...saw some rumours in other forum saying that the IQ would be reduced...but since its using basically the same hardware..it doesnt make sense to me...

i wondering whether they'd put built-in flash like D700 =x  at least i can trigger my F58 wirelessly b4 i buy another F20 =p

and the 3FPS part..does it apply to RAW? or only jpeg?

Added on August 25, 2009, 12:35 pm
a500 would be the successor of a100..as what predicted earlier...
*
no build-in flash as in the leak manual...u need F20AM to trigger ur F58 or another F58 to do the job

Not sure how true is the German site, but the photo shows A850 don't have a pop-up
*
i strong;y believe it don have pop-up flash...as this move will kill the sales of F20

i think i made a mistake on that...3.3 k i believe is all in...now 2.6k is Body and kit only same goes to A300 as he has sold his VG and Extra Battery

Why compare? The two are both cameras that can be used to get great pics. Just select the one that you feel most comfortable with and then go out there and take pics.

Although a great cam can make your life a bit easier, it's more the person behind the cam when it comes to getting great pics. The camera is just a tool. You don't ask a great painter what kind of brush he uses when you see one of his works, do you?

should be significant upgrade in terms of performance
*
i like most of the feature, maybe only 3 things i don like...

1. Only one dial...
2. No AF Assist
3. No Sepia mode in creative style

Yet to commend on the ISO performance
