Seng_Kiat: DRO Level 5, only when at ISO200 or ISO100, and in bright daylight.

Do try EV +1 with DRO Level 5... it has a very different effect on the shadows, and less noise also.

ianho, then I am nicely surprised!

countdracula: Yep - the Minolta 70-210mm F4 "beercan" has stayed at a classic price of around RM800-1100. That was how much it was when it came out, 20 years ago! The Minolta 50mm F1.4 and Sony 50mm F1.4 both sell for RM800 second-hand.

I got that too! Haha...

QUOTE(Braynumb @ Sep 8 2009, 04:42 PM)
so, best choice would be Minolta 100-300 f4.5-5.6? coz it's more in my budget range which is around RM550 rather than RM850 of the beercan... hm...

Anything near 300mm or above, must make sure it's an APO lens. Otherwise, it's not worth the investment. IMO.

nickilala: Yes it is - bokeh is great, color and sharpness too. It's also relatively light.

Braynumb: The lenses that reach 300mm without APO, tend to be really bad at 300mm. The beercan is only 210mm and still sharp there.
