In my case, of course the movie has to be the main criteria to warrant any HD purchase.

Then the PQ, followed by AQ... then only the extras.

Sometimes silly/campy/sucked movies can be good to me if the PQ is really2 top notch...it can alter my perception on a movie. But if say... LOTR for instance; have really sucked PQ, I won't buy it...I'll stick with dvd.

But to each their own...

For me, I place importance in the following order:

1. Movie
2. PQ
3. SQ
4. Extras

Dun listen to him!!! There's a way - dun come back here! These maniacs will psycho you with terms like 'SVS', 'TrueHD', 'Monsters Inc', 'Biling-Balang Pow', etc .. 'White Snake' also got!

These days we are blessed wif internet communication & wif this community here etc. where we can buy online cheap2 & share knowledge, tumpang2 order, exchange infos etc. 11 years ago when I first started collecting dvds... mana ada buying from Amazon & share2 info wif fellow forumers like nowadays. Last time, weekend go Sg. Wang, buang wang... and bought Reg.1 dvds for RM125+ and balik rumah tengok syok sendiri...

same here.. cost me a bomb oredi..

I love the extra features, especially the making-off documentaries, but like others I just don't have time to watch it. Anyway, it's just not my reason at all to buy a BD, I own Predator and it has nothing extra on it.

I like to see what happened behind the scenes, getting money from the studios, what attracted the director to the script, how that actor was cast, etc. To be honest, I wanted to be a filmmaker since I saw the making of Return of the Jedi when I was a kid.

I buy BD base on the following:-

PQ.....not really as I am a peasant with peasant eye sight, if can see 'hair' clearly very happy already.

AQ.....a very impt factor to consider, must have lossy audio, if got 7.1 even better.

Prefer 'Un-rated', 'Director-Cut', 'Special Edition' or 'Special Extended Vision'. If possible multi disc vision. Why? Because the chance of seeing 'nen nen' is there!
