anyway, anyone knows if its normal to receive late package from amazom UK. i have 10 titles in 2 packages still not here and already been a week since the estimated delivery date. a few other packages with 1 to 3 titles per package already received. how long should i wait before making complaint to amazon. all i use royal airmail shipping.
*
I'm not sure about Amazon UK, but should be the same as US. If they gave an estimate delivery date (usually from date A to date B, right?) You have to wait after the date B is over then you can send an email to complain because if not, they'll surely ask you to wait one. Even after that, they'll need you to wait another month!!! I selalu kena... but dats wif Amazon US la... doh.gif

Oso make sure your total not exceeding RM500... if so, sudah ada at Ketam tongue.gif

My case lagi best... 2 parcels (each below RM500) ordered different days but sampai together2 pulak doh.gif - kena tahan Ketam because total combined oredi reached RM700+ !!! Ikan tuna menyanyi betul!!! mad.gif

QUOTE(rthj @ Aug 17 2009, 08:00 PM)
did they really tax you based on combined value of 2 (or more) parcels?

i thought its per shipment (parcel) kinda tax system.
*
That's the funny thing...

I ordered both 4 days apart but the first order was delayed because of stock shortage of one title and then, so happen by chance that they were both shipped on the same day, few hours apart... When I ask the Ketam officer, he said yes, memang if each parcel less than RM500 is ok but in my case, both received at the same time to the same address so it was considered one order. Just bad luck & bad timing for me... damn! I kena around RM90+ (excluding petrol & toll to LCCT). The silly borang alone cost me RM18!!? doh.gif

Let's say if your order total price is below RM500, but you chose courier instead (which already above RM100) then the total would go beyond RM500. So, will this oso kena tax? If do, won't the courier company kautim for you and then charge you.... instead of you do the running around? hmm.gif

RM500 is item plus shipping. If ur item RM10 but ur shipping RM490 also consider RM500 tongue.gif
*
But with that amount paid, will the courier co. do the errands instead and just charge you back? That would save you petrol, toll, time, hassle etc etc etc, no?

In my case, of course the movie has to be the main criteria to warrant any HD purchase.

Then the PQ, followed by AQ... then only the extras.

Sometimes silly/campy/sucked movies can be good to me if the PQ is really2 top notch...it can alter my perception on a movie. But if say... LOTR for instance; have really sucked PQ, I won't buy it...I'll stick with dvd.

But to each their own...

At least the mega-poisons are relevant

These days we are blessed wif internet communication & wif this community here etc. where we can buy online cheap2 & share knowledge, tumpang2 order, exchange infos etc. 11 years ago when I first started collecting dvds... mana ada buying from Amazon & share2 info wif fellow forumers like nowadays. Last time, weekend go Sg. Wang, buang wang... and bought Reg.1 dvds for RM125+ and balik rumah tengok syok sendiri... biggrin.gif

dear all, may i know wat is the 'import fees deposit' about in the Amazon while i click the priority international courier?

I dun think there's such fees last time? Do u guys using priority international courier? or 2 other options?
Thanks.

your order & shipping may already reached taxable amount i think. it's only a deposit and they'll refund if you're not charged with tax... but i'm only guessing coz i never use courier. maybe the other sifoos here can provide better info...

I have shipped 1.5k worth of BD before, kettam never even open it and check.

I also have 2 pieces of BD worth around RM220 held at kettam.

Sometimes it depends on luck. My friend ship it to his office - Institute Jantung Malaysia, never kena kettam before! RM2k worth of BD all lepas! vmad.gif

Of course lepas! Who wants to open and look at someone's "jantung" inside... laugh.gif

Just watched District 9. One of the best Sci-Fi movie in recent memory... very creative & inventive! Never seen this type of movie being done like this before but this one's not for all though; some may find this too quirky, absurd & awkward. I liked it because it was not contrived, not typical, very realistic and don't take itself too seriously. There's also some good performances by the unknown actors and very touching ending.

There's nothing to shout on PQ as it was done a la documentary, shaky footage look, everything saturated, over exposed... but that's what I like about the tone & feel. AQ meanwhile is very good, LFE really shake you especially during the "lift-off" and some other "bling balang pow" moments. biggrin.gif One more thing I love this movie...the censorship gave up on snipping the F-word, too many of them hehe..

Overall reminds me of Starship Trooper; the un-cheesy version. Go watch it if you have the chance, see what do you think of this one. Me, I'm bloody satisfied... 4.5 out of 5, recommended! thumbup.gif
