sorry for the lame question. what i mean is more like if anyone in lyn have any success with home training. should throw in the poll also.

guy like me just want to be convinced by local lyn and not by other international trainee that its work all the same around the globe.

A list of LYNers who have equipment @ home ...
there were topics about working out @ home, but you'll need to search 1st...about how successful it is, depends on your goal and your commitment...can start with a set of dumbell...

I workout at home. 2 adjustable 20kg dumbbells only and a bench. I only hit the gym for legs and sometimes lat day for the squat, deadlift, lat pulldown machine and the other leg machines. But a pair of dumbbells at home would do just fine. They'll bring you a long way.

not that i didn't try to search 1st. i put in keywords like (home bodybuild) in lyn search. It didn't come out any related one, or just maybe i still miss some good searching tips.

but i take it that that those with home gym does have successful result without the need to go to a gym as long got the right mind set. those who have the same seriousness in them still can achieve as much result at home with those with who visit gym ?

There's tons of things you can do with a pair of adjustable dumbbells and an adjustable bench.

Not all gyms are expensive. There are those pay-per-entry gyms which are perfectly adequate (aesthetics and crowd aside). They are very liberally strewn all over the Klang Valley. Even a backwater like Kuantan has 3-4 gyms, so I don't see where's your problem. (Unless you're in Tanjung Malim or someplace similar, in which case getting out of that hole is your priority, not gymming.)

so everyone here agree there is no substitute for a good gym and that's home based is no better than gym its is efficiency. if normal result can been seen from a month time, you get to say that its take 2 - 3 month time more would really demotivate anyone. cry.gif gettting out of the hole you say is not option as i was kinda under contract to work in some god forsaken place.

Why not?

If you got the right equipments and highly dedicated.

The basic equipments aren't really too expensive.

Besides, I have quite a number of Aussie friends who works out at home and achieve decent results.

It all comes down to ur dedication and diet. I workout at home for a year plus and I still look better than some ppl here who workout at the gym. It doesn't take 2 to 3 times longer la pfft.

what equipment you have now / you have in mind ?? result may vary, depends on your diet [65%] + workout [35%] ...there's a tonne of method and systems to gain muscles, and it's not easy to achieve one...but not possible...it's your call...commit yourself, you'll get paid...

Actually, it depends how smart are you in your exercise planning. And your diet.
If you have a pair of dumbbells (that can adjust to very heavy) and a pull up bar, and you're disciplined enough... Then you're good to go. I would also make a sandbag if I train at home.

You'll obviously have to train smarter (due to the limited equipment & weights).
I sometimes pull 2 chairs together and do dips, hold a heavy wooden chair (as a weight) for Turkish-get-ups & pistols, get under the table and do a reverse row, push a car (haven't done this yet).

A suggestion would be to learn to do single leg movements e.g. bulgarian split squat, pistols, single leg Romanian deadlift, lunges, lunges jump, step ups, etc (all can be done by holding dumbbells). And power movements like dumbbell swings & dumbbell snatches.

But there's no training atmosphere if one trains at home, you won't feel like making the training session hard if there's no one around you.

Go to a gym, more people there, if anything happens to you while lifting at least there is always people to help you.
