No I'm not... whistling.gif

I have an idea... what if I buy for you an A1, then you also buy me an A1 for christmas k? wink.gif

Btw, I've started to create an XLS file like how JWYJ did. He had a printout on the last gathering and wow, full page (looks like 100+ items). Didn't realise my own list is growing too, but still considered very controlled di nod.gif

Also used to have the XLS sheet thingy when I first started, but not anymore as now my 'collection' has settled around 10-14 pieces at any one time. So for me to have a new toy, an old one must go sad.gif Some of you guys really need the XLS sheet as I can see your collections growing!

Why don't you all create a very simple database, not only for your flashlight but for all your inventory

Hey man, welcome..

U are gonna enjoy urself here trust me..

BTW about the KD trail gathering, do like have to hike or is it a straight path?

Cause I have a knee injury and it has not recovered... Torn ACL... So my knee will just give way on eneven surfaces.

So will this be a problem for me for that day?

Well, I think it's best we split this into 2 groups. One group can walk up to the main clearing to test lights and another (the more adventurous) can go hiking. I'm in group 2.

It's not a very short hike ~15mins I think (forgot) and it's not super easy too. Those that hike should carry less stuff or leave ur BBOL (big bang of lights xD) with someone not hiking.

thumbup.gif

BTW, I'm so in for this gathering. =D By that time I should be all ready. Heh!

edit: you have to hike to the clearing... forgot. It's mostly uphill... =(
Maybe there is another way in thru the other side. Not sure, need to find out.

bro rookiedaddy took this video during the last KD gathering.

have a look for some rough idea what it'll look like.

this is just a couple minutes tho, not 15mins (more like 1/2 hour la polkiuj lol).

i think for those folk having trouble walking, the clearing would be a better option.

I've seen the vid earlier, and it's uneven trail sad.gif I'm not sure about the clearing and I haven't been there yet.

Wah, not sure if we wanna split groups leh, it'll be fun if we're all together smile.gif I was planning to go to the trail and check it out, but kinda have transport issues atm.

Hey polkiuj, so there's two trail, the normal uneven trail up to the clearing and a longer hiking trail?

Added on November 9, 2009, 9:17 pmQuick update on our LYN Flashlight:

I've manage to locate a local laser engraving company in Paramount PJ. Susuman and newspaper knows about it via PM. I've sent an email to the company about our little project, let's hope we get a reply soon, if not I'll call them.

Newspaper has suggested:
1. Mr.Lite [ not sure on the quality ] - Still no review yet from the CPF'er.
2. Xeno [ the most expensive among all but high quality assured ]
3. SolarForce [ the most cheapest among all ]

Newspaper, I am thinking of solarforce if xeno and mrlite is to ex, and since it's cheaper and more of us will be able to afford. The last gathering with jwyj, the quality of solarforce not bad and seems like a reliable P60 light. hmm.gif Is it possible to have solarforce come without any engraving? Or an extra blank flat surface like the quark and fenix has. So can put our own engraving on that. It'll be good if can find out the aluminum grade of solarforce. What worries me is the price of the engraving now unsure.gif

Hrmm.. but Xeno's quality is very good though hmm.gif rclxub.gif

Solarforce would be a good start with reasonable pricing off the shelf and good quality ! Comparing Xeno and Mr. Lite, i would rather go for the Xeno G5 [ the surefire C2 clone ]....just only diff of +- USD10 in terms of pricing but the Xeno's quality assured. here's my summarized of these 3 lights;

1. SolarForce [ Lm series ] - Cheap, Good Quality, Body parts are easily available and can do 'lego'ing
2. Xeno G5 [ surefire C2 clone ]- Slightly expensive than Mr. Lite, Top notch quality, their spare parts are very complete, best looking light among all
3. Mr. Lite - not sure of it's quality, design is least preferred among all, willing to accommodate any our request, and the're coming out with SST-50 light soon....

my others criteria preferred:
1. must be P60 compatible
2. less people own it [ the model ] so this will become unique than the rest of the lights brows.gif
3. cheap / reasonable priced without sacrificing the build quality
4. manufacturer must willing to accommodate to any our reasonable request
5.
6.

Hrmm, the proton looks like a good light, boost circuit only and it has better efficiency with NiMH.

I'm not sure if the UI has a memory function, it seems like it always starts at Max? Then press hold to ramp down to your desired output. When you switch it off, and on again it goes back to Max? Going in and out of signaling mode seems time consuming though, But I guess it's okay cause they are somewhat "hidden", so your normal operation wouldn't be a bother.

From what i read, it will always start with max. I don't know how long is the ramping time. Hmm.. all the nice light coming out.. wallet is going to suffer.

And there's a new light coming out soon AAA and AA... Mr Lite from China. http://www.mrlite.com/ Check it out. The cool thing is they can customise your light intensity level as well as mode(L-M-H or M-L-H etc). I think no one offer this service before, right?

Ah OldNewspaper, I think the XLS is good, if you want to keep track where you bought it, warranty info, and most importantly the Input voltage range, and estimated run time, so the next time when you have 100 lights like jwyj, then it is useful rclxub.gif

Ok about the "first Bright Side light", looks like you are very P60 liao wor, haha laugh.gif

Can I add one more thing, if the P60 drop in has multiple mode, I love the Lumens Factory Style, which the Mode Switch need a quick on/off (flash) the light, say less than 0.6128 seconds ( tongue.gif ), not 2 seconds, and it remembered the last mode (if it won't remember the Strobe/SOS mode is even better). So it makes it virtually single mode flashlight, good for ppl that like surefire styles (1 mode), but also suitable for emergency usage (strobe/SOS0) because, you can switch on and flash to the desire mode when needed.

Unlike some flashlight, that will switch mode when u on/off the light in less than 2 seconds, or some even 30 seconds. So sometimes when you are in the dark with low mode (say a Med, High, Low, Strobe, SOS light), you off then need to on it in seconds, it blast with strobe mode in max, ah, that is annoying.

Summary :
Low, Medium, High, Strobe, SOS (or any order with Memory Mode (Prefer not to remember the Strobe and SOS)
Flash (on/Off/on) in less than 0.6128 to switch mode

oh, hey, this is if every one agree lar. But for those need this (without the Strobe/SOS), you can always get a 3 Mode 3.7V LED Drop in from LumensFactory, since it is P60 compatible, Phylightsophy has it anyway.

Guys,

about multimode vs single mode. If you have several lights and you seldom use it except for your favourite, soon you will forgot how to switch between those modes especially it is "hidden" (not like RRT1).

I like multimode but it is a "nice to have" function only. I always end up with single mode. (unless it's like RRT1, easy)

Good point Striderman tongue.gif (I read Spiderman in my mind)
I totally agree, that is why the suggested switching mode, because for me, who use 1 mode mostly, with this memory mode (and can only switch with very fast click/flash), it is virtually a 1 mode light drool.gif with the additional mode when it needed.

Yeah, the RRT1/2 is great, if the 3 mode and the strobe is IBS is even better rclxms.gif
