hmm.gif ...any arguments on why the need to change strings depending on court type? ...an honest question... don't see the need, but then again, I am not string-sensitive (in other words, whatever strings happen to be not too cheap & not expensive will be the one I choose biggrin.gif) and am from a different generation, so maybe times have changed... anyway, to try and answer, when we used to train (part of the time on clay courts) our coach never told us to change strings or racquets, so I would say just stick with what you are currently using and comfortable with... just brush up on technique (more spin would be helpful) and stamina, oh and footwork on clay is a bit different too!... ahhh miss the dusty stuff... very easy on the knees... a b1tch to chase those drop-shots though...

clay or not, string & tension is individual preference. Anyone can recommend any string but it might
not be what u like. The very basic characteristic u need to know in a string are shown below:

1. Polyester - stiff, durable, stringbed wont move around, doesnt retain tension well, spin better
2. Natural Gut - expensive, soft, lively, good playability, good tension hold
3. Synthetic Gut & Multi - softer than poly, hold tension better than poly, resilience in between poly & natural gut

There other type of strings like kevlar, multi blend, nylon, etc... but stick with the 3 major string types above first &
experiment. How long have u been playing tennis retrosnare?

I think it is better to stick the string that you are comfortable with.

Many tour players put less tension for clay court. Theoritically (because I only play on hard court) it is because one will have to put more effort and generate power.

I think it is worth to get it from Tennis Warehouse because there is some variation between American version and Asian Version. I
