QUOTE(ar188 @ Nov 4 2009, 11:56 AM) Sony S360 also same price. RM599/= Added on November 4, 2009, 1:28 pm QUOTE(chewkl @ Nov 4 2009, 11:52 AM) Oops...always mistaken SenQ, SEC and Sen Heng. Dem those S's.... Well SEC also selling Sony S360 for RM599/= So which is a better buy? BD60 right? Since it is 1 generation newer than the S350. So, what are you waiting for... I choose sony at first, then notice Panny has the other network access and USB front for other files like DVix. So I couls test these 2 item. I though the viera cast like you tube is a gimmick. But after viewing it yesterday, this addtional feature add as another entertainment. I just hope one day, we also have Amazon Movie on Demand. QUOTE(low98944 @ Nov 4 2009, 01:33 PM) I was told is new for both Sony and Panny. I dont think they want to lie for that but heck, we will never know. Not unly this shop, all the shop. The Panny I collected were sealed in the box. The box need to be open on the spot for taking of serial number and check parts for defective. I asked again if they have stock. The shop said yes, still a lot. Who said no more? ha ha ha ha If really show room unit, can they actually have lets say.. 100 unit or 1000 unit display unit? But i never ask how many they got anyway. I can't access the network also for the 1st time until I updated the firmware. Which shows that this particular unit have not been configured. All setting in the setup are default. No sign of scratches or even the rubber bumper leg at 4 corner has no sign of dust or mark. It is clean and protected in the box when I took it out. So, I guess that really show it new. But most important thing is, it is working perfectly well. if not, I have 6 years warranty. At 1st I budget to get from KL where cheapest is Rm850. but now, with my 6 years warranty, I still have buffer to get 1-2 Bluray disc. Perhaps for those who got it from SEC, can share your experience here so the rest can get more confidence and help to push other competitor to lowered their price further. is good for us as consumer. |

I just called their Bayan Baru outlet. the sales guy said BD60 is out of stock and they only sell at that price if you buy Plasma TV from them. Purchase-with-purchase offer and not sold separately.
Seems to be conflicting story. Has any one of you bought one outright? |

Many of those great offer Bluray were due to not all customer are buying purchase with purchase. So the left over player were sold cheap to other customers. This could be what happen. If so, I'm one of the lucky one. This post has been edited by tracktion3: Nov 4 2009, 03:06 PM |

Now someone mentioned a few posts back price dropped to RM599/- already.Added on November 4, 2009, 1:37 pmOr it is S350 are display unit. The newer S360 is selling at Best electronics for RM999/-, no way can match the SEC Penang offer at RM599/-. I'm another lucky one to get BD60 for RM599, brand new no PWP whatsoever.
Maybe they try to gain publicity by selling cheap cheap but just for few ... I got it from Bukit Jambul brach, try to call them. Good luck to you. QUOTE(horray @ Nov 4 2009, 02:03 PM) |

QUOTE(Riddhy @ Nov 5 2009, 07:07 AM) dont know about LG, but the philips bdp3000 is RM599 at SenQ. ( Dont mixed up, SenQ is not the same as SEC)why go for philips? it cant decode DTS MA but you can still bitstream this format. It was my list earlier, but I have to take it out due to this limitation. Anyway, I bitstream all audio format to my AVR anyway even with this Panny. ha ha ha ha |

I just received confirmation that the PS3 slim does not deinterlace 1080i content from a BD. 1080i deinterlacing is something that most displays themselves don't get right and u tend to see artifacts during concerts especially. It is is not a dealbreaker but pls keep that in mind,. |

QUOTE(jchong @ Nov 5 2009, 02:18 PM) You're right, most documentaries and the odd movie is in 1080i. I edited my previous post to include these.Live events are normally shot in CCD cameras and not normally shot on film. I believe they are primarily shot for broadcast and not for theater/cinema in mind. Same as documentaries. So that's one of the reasons why 1080i is chosen since that is primary mode of broadcast for the HD around the world. This post has been edited by anfieldude: Nov 5 2009, 02:33 PM |

Hi
Just bought my first blu ray, Philips BDP3000 from SEC, Butterworth, Penang for RM599. They are also selling Sony S360 and Panasonic BD60 for the same price. Don't have to buy anything else to get that price. Chose Philips coz its the only player that supports DIVX playback. |
