Can the Panasonic DPM-60 play DivX thru USB or SD-Card?

The spec here didnt mention or I guess can not.

http://www.panasonic.com.my/web/pid/7865/Spec

The US spec shows Mpeg2 with SD card. See link below.

Just got my Pana BD60 from a crazy sales and updated to FW2.1.

Seems like the resume play doesn't function when changing disc or press stop.  Anyone can confirm this is by design?
*
Cant remember I read somewhere, that problem happen in all BluRay player. You will not be able to resume... tongue.gif not like DVD.

SEC Northern region. Price RM599. with 1 year warranty. No HDMI cable provided.

http://www.sec.com.my/b2b/contact/

I used al cheapo HDMI from my samsung DVD. Pannt BD60 really good for BD. We still have lots of DVD and ahem DVD, and the Panny is giving a great performance for these ahem DVD. PQ with upscale to 1080p is much better than my Samsung 1080p up scale.

1. Set up system take less than 5 min.
2. Change setting for audio and video.
3. Update firmware took less than 15min. ( depending on your network speed)

I realized loading time is fast. I dont feel delayed at all. Then read the firmware update info and understand why:

DMP-BD60 Blu-Ray Disc Player Firmware

Version2.1Date of Release10/05/2009 4:00 AMCompatible ModelsDMP-BD60K, DMP-BD601K, DMP-BD605KIssues AddressedIssues Addressed
Improves the disc reading time by an average of 5-6 seconds
Improves the display of the Lionel Richie Live top menu.
Enables Auto Still setting in select BD discs. (Enables "Still Off" setting.)

Then I tested the Youtube & Picassa access. I'[m surprise with teh speed for youtube. Watch the trailer for the movie 2012 at youtube with no delay. amazing. But once my other computer is taking the bandwith, it does delayed. But overall, having to access youtube to watch videos is amazing. Picassa photos are cristal clear.

Higkly recomend especially at RM599/=

Oops...always mistaken SenQ, SEC and Sen Heng. Dem those S's....laugh.gif

So which is a better buy? BD60 right? Since it is 1 generation newer than the S350.
*
Well SEC also selling Sony S360 for RM599/= smile.gif I jump when I 1st heard the price and alert forumer and friends. They all dont believe also. Dont blame them.. ha ha , until i show them my receipt. tongue.gif

So, what are you waiting for... smile.gif

I choose sony at first, then notice Panny has the other network access and USB front for other files like DVix. So I couls test these 2 item. I though the viera cast like you tube is a gimmick. But after viewing it yesterday, this addtional feature add as another entertainment. smile.gif

I just hope one day, we also have Amazon Movie on Demand. tongue.gif

I heard 1 forumer said, if not mistaken  sweat.gif , those S360 previously are display units bo.  sweat.gif

I was told is new for both Sony and Panny. I dont think they want to lie for that but heck, we will never know. Not unly this shop, all the shop. smile.gif
The Panny I collected were sealed in the box. The box need to be open on the spot for taking of serial number and check parts for defective.

I asked again if they have stock. The shop said yes, still a lot. Who said no more? ha ha ha ha

If really show room unit, can they actually have lets say.. 100 unit or 1000 unit display unit? But i never ask how many they got anyway.

I can't access the network also for the 1st time until I updated the firmware. Which shows that this particular unit have not been configured. All setting in the setup are default. No sign of scratches or even the rubber bumper leg at 4 corner has no sign of dust or mark. It is clean and protected in the box when I took it out.

So, I guess that really show it new. But most important thing is, it is working perfectly well. if not, I have 6 years warranty. At 1st I budget to get from KL where cheapest is Rm850. but now, with my 6 years warranty, I still have buffer to get 1-2 Bluray disc. smile.gif

Perhaps for those who got it from SEC, can share your experience here so the rest can get more confidence and help to push other competitor to lowered their price further. is good for us as consumer. smile.gif

I just called their Bayan Baru outlet. the sales guy said BD60 is out of stock and they only sell at that price if you buy Plasma TV from them. Purchase-with-purchase offer and not sold separately.

Seems to be conflicting story. Has any one of you bought one outright?  rclxub.gif
*
I bought it at RM599. NOT purchase with purchase.

try call other branch.

Many of those great offer Bluray were due to not all customer are buying purchase with purchase. So the left over player were sold cheap to other customers. This could be what happen. If so, I'm one of the lucky one.

does sec got lg bd 370? also how much was philips bdp3000 there as it was before rm 580?
*
dont know about LG, but the philips bdp3000 is RM599 at SenQ. ( Dont mixed up, SenQ is not the same as SEC)

why go for philips? it cant decode DTS MA but you can still bitstream this format. It was my list earlier, but I have to take it out due to this limitation. Anyway, I bitstream all audio format to my AVR anyway even with this Panny. ha ha ha ha

BD60 Bigggg  problem with ... cannot mention  biggrin.gif . But I tested just one disc (which got problem with DB60) on both the Sony 360 and Philips 3000 and no problem playing.
*
My friend Philips 3000 can't play some BD. But once he updated the firmware it works.

Same with BD60 and Sony. Thats the whole idea we need to update firmware. BD is still in infant stage. Many unknown problem could occur especially those special features in the BD.

But BD60 is one of the best in playing DVD upscalling to 1080p. I chose that over Sony because of this and because we still got a lot of ahem type of DVD in the market.

Btw, got pirate BD meh? Those are DVD in disguise isnt it?... ha ha ha ha

I've never seen a 25G BD pirates... it could be expensive too?

China has a version that selling around RM40. But some BD played with quality problem. And it is not even a pirate? or it is? I've no idea.....

It looks to me those are HD 720p niah...

Long time available already. But quite a number can't play on the BD60. But then those that I managed to play on the BD60 I couldn't tell the diff compared with the orginal. Just some Audio options and features  missing to fit into 25GB disc.

Price is RM40/- at some places.

Added on December 3, 2009, 11:53 pm
They are the same , just the 3008 slightly heavier. Don't know why though.

Added on December 3, 2009, 11:56 pm
No lah you are mistaking those fake DVD9 blu-ray with those BD-R blu-ray 25GB. For BD60 updating to newest firmware also won't help in better playability of BD-Rs. biggrin.gif
*
So is BD-R. Hmmm dont think the quality will be in par. For that kind of BD, I rather buy a DVD for RM4... ha ha ha

I don't think I'm going to spend RM40 for a fake vs Ori. Many of our friends here selling lower than 100 vs what speedy is selling. Some even rm60-rm70. I think, that is good enough. smile.gif

But I'm trying to improve by not buying pirates anymore..... smile.gif Is so hard not too though. tongue.gif
