I'm a Manc, therefore I must be silly and immature though, so don't pay too much heed to what I have to type.

Rooney sets goals target
QUOTE Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is aiming to score 25 goals this season after being given a more central role by Sir Alex Ferguson. Rooney weighed in with 20 goals for United last term, but was often deployed on the wing as Cristiano Ronaldo was given more of a roving role. With Ronaldo sold to Real Madrid earlier in the summer, Rooney will be restored to his favoured position and he is aiming to repay his manager with goals. "Of course 25 is a target which I hope I'm going to reach," said Rooney. "I've always said I should score more and hopefully I'll do that this season. "I've got what I wanted. I like to play through the middle. "The manager has come out now and said I am going to play there throughout the season so I'm delighted with that. "He may change his mind and whatever he says goes, but I hope he will play me there for most of the season. If I keep scoring goals I will justify it." Big expectations He added: "I am comfortable with the extra responsibility now Cristiano has gone. "There have been big expectations on me for the last seven years so whether he was here or not I would still have that. "But I have never looked at myself as being the main man. It is a team game. I won't win a trophy on my own." Rooney is also confident that strike partner Dimitar Berbatov, who failed to win over the fans in his debut season at Old Trafford, is looking sharper ahead of the opening game against Birmingham on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1&HD1. "You can see in training and games during pre-season that Dimitar has looked sharper," said Rooney. "He looks like he is more determined. "He is tracking back with the full-backs in pre-season and is definitely working harder and trying to impress. "He is a brilliant player. He has so much quality he has got and we all want him to show it." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5484238,00.html Manchester United in the dock after Community Shield ref rage » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...d-ref-rage.html QUOTE ‘When the referee believes an injury is serious, he can stop play immediately. If the referee believes a player is only slightly injured then he will allow play to continue until the ball is out. How to determine if its serious enough to warrant a stop? A player might lying down looks ok but who knows there might be a broken ribs inside? Also let say if Team A counter attack to Team B's half when one of Team A's player is down back at their own half and the referee already follow the play/counter attack and is in the Team B's half now, how he supposed to know if there is a player down back there? its not over yet about the ref things...
no problem, next time if our opponents players down, just dont stop playing unless the ref blow the whistle remember, last time Henry free kick before ref whistle, which cause them fear and the team put one player every time their opponent got free kick in front of the goal |

Some smarty pants claimed I cowardly deleted his post. Last time I checked, I can't even delete mine. LOL. I did press a certain button with a certain ! logo on it though.
I was said to be crying in his club thread too. I must've had an amnesia or something because I don't recall doing anything of that sort. Praised a Blue? Check. Congratulated a Blue? Check. Cry about the recent loss in the Blue thread? No, but I need to invent a memory viewer machine first to be really sure. Shrooms oh shrooms, I wonder how many of you did he have for breakfast today? add-ons: I'm also supposed to admit my mistake... Wait, what mistake did I do again? QUOTE(nizamhameed @ Aug 11 2009, 05:03 PM) its not over yet about the ref things... We do that even now what? No probs there. Though there are certain incidents when we'll stop the play even if the ref said play on. Usually that's when the opponent player down is really in need of attention and his teammate tells us to stop and... Oh well you get the drift.no problem, next time if our opponents players down, just dont stop playing unless the ref blow the whistle remember, last time Henry free kick before ref whistle, which cause them fear and the team put one player every time their opponent got free kick in front of the goal |

This is so furiously debated is because it resulted in a goal. Trust me, if it wasn't a goal, no one will even care.
I suggest we just move on and stop whining. Football is never fair, and this is why it is called the beautiful game. Enough means enough. This post has been edited by db07mufan: Aug 11 2009, 06:43 PM |
