infernoaswen --> the habittrail i bought is package so comes with Habittrail staple food... inside got seeds, grains, sun flower seeds, corn, hay pellet, etc.... but he only dig the sun flower to eat  

i put in wholemeal bread soak in water to let him try also this morning...

i even went to pet shop to see how other hamster do... they all rush for water bottle but mine totally don't touch it even if i bring it to him  

he keep digging with his front leg and use his back leg to push the bedding behind... yesterday and today also same... run around the cage... dig and dig... Is he trying to escape or just his habit ???

I want him to take the water from bottle and not solely on vege/fruits because in case i come back late or not around he can still survive.
Vege can't stay in room temperature long and might get dry up soon.

 

Ya can easily pick him up...my hand smell like puppy smell each time i touch him... 

This morning when I wake up and see the little fellow he run around the cage and dig the bowl so hard other grain,corn,pellet, etc all fly out...

Maybe he's throwing tantrum cannot find sun flower seeds.

After that he went back to sleep.....

Triangle and long green thingy also don't eat lah mine ww... I notice getting lesser the vitakraft I put in... some on the floor of the cage... he like to dig and throw tantrum if can't fine sun flower seeds  ...

The small chunk of carrot I gave yesterday night eaten 1/3 liao...

Mid-night not sure lah as I sleep already, I put him ni the living room. But early morning he got run the wheel, run around sniffing, digging, and stand up all the time to sniff and see... also bite the cage 

Ahh... the water bottle got lessen a bit, got drink.

I also want to "tak kisah or no eyes see" if he don't finish the food but he look pity lah... he climb up and bite the cage. Tak sampai hati...

But this weekend when I go back home town I going to fill up the cup and let him be...

Btw, can hamster toilet train ? Mine poo poo mostly inside his own house, until he sleep outside. Maybe smelly  .

Pet shop selling those cute toilet for hamster is it for poo poo or bathing ah ???

  My hammy bite me this morning when I take his house aside and scoop his poo...

So I gently push him away when I continue to scoop... he keep coming to sniff, so I pick him up and put him on the wheel loh... after clean, put in some new wood shaving he go in and start digging again, rubbing his tummy on it... maybe scent... use his nose to push the shaving aside and make a dent like hole... maybe a nest or something...

This weekend going to force train liao, no more sun flower seed if he don't eat lol...

I think he don't like celery, I put a small piece in last night, a few bite he back off a bit and use his front leg to push back the wood shaving lol... like bury it or something lol... so I took it out...

Nope, didn't bleed... I pull out asap lol...

I saw his eyes wide open only dare to do it... if sleeping like last night don't kacau loh.

Where to buy breeder select ah ? I live in Damansara. The living world wood shaving comes with the habitrail when I buy so want to finish first loh.

No physical harm will be done    just let him be with what ever food I put in only.

Need to experiment on the toilet training... read some info in hamster club... put some of his poo and wee wee soak wood shaving in a potty.

lol you guys, dont too over train eh,hamster does not hv high iq to know every bit of training we provide for them. Well we get hamster as pet cause they are cute and see their natural style and behaviour, if keep on thinking to train it and turn it into smth we like, is like becoming robot hamster d      ><"" well that my personal opinion. As long they are healthy and run freely , socialised nicely with each others, is good enough. whether they potty train, or know how to use the sand bath, finish up the pellets, that's not the big issue. cause we going to change their bedding once every week, or twice. cheers guys.

for hamster nails, dont try to trim it on your own, unless you know wht to do. provide a rough surface or smth they can scratch on ,can help to shorten down the nails. i do provide sand paper, but use the most fine sand paper to lay 1 part of the cage, where the hamster spend most of his time around, i provide a rock smth like the waterfall rock in their cage, so they to scratch around the rock sometimes. so far dont hv any nails problem. =D

So far she's stop biting already. Now got new habit which is sleeping inside the bathing sand pool

IT seems the female always bully the male, sometimes they get along very well and sometimes got bitten. Haih, sad. Took care of the male (if not mistaken) for days until he recover but again same thing happen. Near butt there bold d, no hair. Got blood stain.

hi, i have a syrian hamster.
he's with me for half a year already.

and then when i saw him just now, he can't even walk properly. he cant even stand, can't even move properly. and the next thing i see is, his cage has alot of ants.

now he's lying but can't move, but he's still breathing like normal.

is he going to be okay? vet is closed at this time.

i'm worried sick.

please advise.

Just wanna share pictures of my 4 month old winter white pearl hamster, Pepper. He's always asking for broccoli.. =)

my baby passed away this morning...

i thought she was getting better after taking the med from the vet but she left me this morning. i think she's too tiny & weak to fight for her life. i still remember i picked her out from the bunch of hamsters in the petstore because she is the tiniest there & thought she wouldn't have survived over there due to that.    i knew she wouldn't live long but never expected her to leave me so early................. 

I think it's normal cause my hammy does like tat all the time also.. sleep eat sleep & he getting chubby just like a ball.. Hehe.. he very seldom run on the wheel too.. So i think it's normal.. but my hammy quite picky actually.. like when i feed him vitakraft sum green thingy he doesnt want to eat.. he just pick those he like to eat oli.. all except the green thingy.. How can i train him to eat the green stuffs cos i believe actually the green stuffs is very healthy 1..
