QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Nov 2 2010, 11:07 AM)
I recently attended a high profile forum with some renowned figures in the corporate world including some top guns from PNB. The 5 billion price tag was just a ball park figure. No study was properly done. No preliminary design or evaluation of costs. It was merely something pulled out at the last minute to spice up the budget. So the final price can (and will) balloon considerably when you take into account inflation and other 'handouts'. Be prepared for a RM 8 billion final price tag at the very least.
Don't be surprised if it is even higher than this. Malaysia Boleh after all biggrin.gif

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Nov 2 2010, 11:36 AM)
see how the government handle the budget of building up the Istana Negara then u know, it was budgetted at 635million, and ended up government need to pay rm935million. Expect many ppl get paid hansomely besides the contractor. The beauty of this case that they used back the same contractor that build a stadium in Trengganu that collasped after 1 year it was built. And the Istana construction contract were granted to the same contractor AFTER the collaspe of Trengganu Stadium....
Actually, when they first announced this new Istana Negara project, the total cost is a mere RM400 million only.

QUOTE(comawhite @ Nov 5 2010, 10:10 PM)
can someone point me in the right direction on how to withdraw ASW2020 ?
-bring passbook to maybank
-withdraw all money that was pumped in?
Am I right ?

How will they pay ?
-Cash?
-Cheque?
Can be in cheque, IBG as well as cash. It's up to you.

Take note of the limit imposed below :
QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Feb 7 2010, 05:23 PM)
RHB Bank = no limit
(**as long as the particular branch have enough cash then they will give you RM1 Million of cash if you want but no idiot will carry that much cash around since like 2 - 3 decades ago)

CIMB Bank = RM50,000/day/account

Maybank = RM20,000/day/account

Pos Office = RM10,000/day/account

Can anybody predict how ASB will perform this year? Any projected figures for the dividend?
Should be no less than 7% for the dividend. As for bonus, perhaps around 1% or more ... Am still praying for more though biggrin.gif

i asked before... it seems you can only use cheques at the banks - maybank, cimb and rhb, post office and asnb office cannot, you have to write the cheque payee to the bank then when it clear then only it will clear in your passbook, consider it is like float like that la...
I don't think this is true but i can't be too sure either. If i'm not mistaken, one can actually buy ASB or any other ASNB funds using cheque at ASNB office. You will however need to leave your passpook at the office until the cheque is cleared.

Year End Bonus + ASB dividend  thumbup.gif
hope this year can get 9% at least  icon_question.gif
thanks for the info, hope u can update here ya
No. You will not get the dividend before Christmas. Instead, you'll only know the dividend for this year and only have access to the dividend + bonus on 3/1/2011. I am saying 3/1/2011 and not 2/1/2011 because 2/1/2011 falls on Sunday.

For year 2009:
ASM 6.20%
ASW 6.25%
ASB 7.30% + 1.25% Bonus

For year 2010
ASM 6.25%
ASW 6.30%
ASB 7.50% + 1.25% Bonus

That is,
ASM increase by 0.8%
ASW increase by 0.8%
ASB increase by 2.70%.........
How did you come up with 2.70% ???

QUOTE(Nepo @ Dec 22 2010, 10:51 AM)
Year 2009
ASB 7.30% + 1.25%

Year 2010
ASB 7.50% + 1.25%

Increase by (7.50%-7.30%)/7.30% = 2.70%

We are not writing a report and neither are we doing an analysis here. So why complicate things up ? Just give the simple number will do.

QUOTE(Nepo @ Dec 22 2010, 10:51 AM)
In other word, if Mr A's basic salary is RM 1000.00 and allowance = RM 200.00
and  Mr. A salary increase by RM 100.00 in year 2011
=100/1000 = 10%

OR
=100/1200 = 8.33%

So, if your are Mr. A, would you tell your friends your salary is increase by 10% or 8.33% ?
Allowance should not be taken into consideration as it may not be fixed one. It also did not mention basic salary or gross salary (insufficient information). And in normal conversation, we will simply tell our friends we got RMxxx more this month and won't go by percentage because :
1. We are not in a Maths class now
2. We are not preparing a financial report now
3. We are not doing an in-depth analysis of our own salary now

PNB could have paid out 11.4 sen per unit dividend in addition to the 1.25 sen bonus. But instead chose to pay 7.5 sen. Damn!

http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...44&sec=business
Bloody hell. Didn't they declare lower dividend too last year because they wanted to bring the rest forward to this year whistling.gif

BTW, you guys should know the 'bonus' 1.25% is like tipu only, thy calculate your bonus not from your lowest average investment....
1.25% has to be divided by 10 years.
