QUOTE(ripalo @ Feb 13 2011, 10:30 PM) I don't earn to aim alot la...like I only got 1k...if i put in ASx also I get 50rm interest....bt that is better than rm10 interest in fd. Until the government increase the fund size for ASW2020, ASM or AS1M, i guess FD in commercial bank is your only choice for the time being. |

Man ... i hope they will increase the fund size for ASW2020 soon. The last time they did so was in late 2008.

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ May 4 2011, 04:50 PM) The chairman also mentioned that bumi portion for AS1M still plenty. I am eager to see how it's gonna fare this year. The first dividend declared (6.38%) was highly misleading but still better than FD nonetheless. Might just go for this if i have no other choice. Just temporarily anyway until they increase the ASW2020 fund size again (praying hard @AS1M holders, Have any of you tried to sell your AS1M before ? Did they charge you anything ? |

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ May 4 2011, 09:27 PM) why not u try ASD? it pays the same dividend as ASW2020, both are full, but u can always try and error. It's gonna be a time consuming task. Pretty much the reason why i'm reluctant to try |

QUOTE(Mickey C @ May 28 2011, 06:09 PM) I wonder why people ask this stupid question??? If you are Bumi, no doubt is ASB lah.... If you are non Bumi, why u ask ASB?? you no chance to invest in ASB.. There are some Bumi who will ask this kind of question every now and then. It's mainly because they have the options to invest in all ASNB funds and also because some of them have maxed out their ASB quota.ASB vs ASM or etc... = don't answer this stupid question... if ASM vs ASW vs AS1M = ah,, this can answer...... haha... QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Jul 9 2011, 08:15 PM) This service already in the market for > 1 year. Can also do it via Cimb clicks Yeah. And there is a service charge for this service. I can't remember if it's RM0.50 or RM2 already.By the way, any of you have experience in naming a successor for ASB account ? Be it yours or other people you know ? What are the procedures like ? What do we need to bring besides our IC and the ASB passbook ? And is it possible to name a second name for a particular ASB account ? So that he or she can withdraw money from the ASB account without the presence of the actual ASB account holder ? |

QUOTE(smartinvestor01 @ Aug 22 2011, 08:12 AM) Well, i expect it to be maybe about 0.2-0.3% higher than the ASW2020 dividend.. Hopefully it come true.. I'm with cheahcw2003. I don't think the return of AS1M is going to be higher than ASD or ASW2020. Both ASD and ASW2020 declared 6.50% this year.Added on August 22, 2011, 8:13 am Yape, though saying 'One Malaysia', we non-bumiputera still not easily insert funds in la.. Not so fortunate.. Added on August 22, 2011, 8:16 am Agree with both of you.. Cheers.. |

I went to ASNB office to open the AS1M account today. No more troublesome procedure to get a confirmation from the Jabatan Hal Ehwal Negeri like last time. Any Sino/Native with a Chinese surname can proceed to open the Bumiputra portion of ASD/ASW2020/AS1M and ASB by giving them the MyKad.
And by the way, i was told by the very friendly counter staff that our quota for ASB (supposedly to be just RM200k) will increase every year as they credit the dividend into the account. The increased quota will stay and will keep increasing every year even after we take out all the dividend earned. Yes, it means that we can deposit using fresh cash. We did discuss about this briefly like 2 years ago and if my memory serves me correctly, most of us thought that once we have more than RM200k inside ASB and withdraw all the dividend earned from the previous year out and leave exactly RM200k inside the account, we won't be able to deposit any fresh cash into the account which is not true. Certainly a wonderful news to me |

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Aug 23 2011, 11:58 PM) Yes that is why i shared with u my relative can get until 500-600K balance in the ASB. I did not read the report but yeah, i've got it a few months ago along with the statement According to the ASB Annual report ended 31 Dec 2010, there are 8,841 ASB investors have balance of RM500K and above. I believe the same report has already delivered to your doorstep or u can download it online @ asnb website. Speaking about ASNB increasing the fund size for ASD, ASW2020 & ASM, i believe this will not happen until the AS1M is all fully subscribed. Just my RM0.02 |
