Bondin process require lot patience n time.. don rush..

Actually wheel is essential for healthy glider development.. they nid it for exercise so wont develop bone deficiency prob...

imagine, in wildthey hv one big forest to jump n glide.. but now, ppl providng so limited space..

Hello.. My glider seems to have problems defecating.. I'm quite worried because he never had this issue before. Does anyone have any idea as to what causes gliders to have constipation?

However, I'll be taking my glider (Mochi) to Dr. Jenny either later today or sometime tomorrow because I think his problems with his bowel system is affecting his mood and behaviour. Also, I need to get him his checkup. It'll be his first time!! Hopefully everything turns out fine. :-)

Just to share a story with the rest of you, I had another glider quite a while back. But she was sick and eventually he passed on. Her name was Miko. During the time she was ill, I took her to see Dr. Yeoh at Taman Megah. When I entered his room for consultation, he actually asked me, "What is this animal? This is the first time I'm treating this kind of animal!"

I was not entirely surprised to see his name listed here as a recommended veterinarian for gliders because I was thinking to myself that he might have gone to study a little more about gliders after my visit or after the population of glider owners began to grow in Malaysia, escalating over the past few years. I was just happ to know that now there are glider vets! And I found out from reading this forum.

Plainly said, this forum is just absolutely great! Thanks so much again!!

hey hey! Took Mochi to see Dr Jenny for the first time a few days ago and well everything wad fine at first. Dr Jenny said that his poopoo doesn't have any sort of parasites in them which kinda surprised her but I take that as a good sign!! :-) howeve. She did mention that Mochi seems to have thinning hair which I have already kinda noticed myself hence I brought him for a checkup. Dr Jenny said it could be die to excessive grooming which I also have been thinking alike. Dr Jenny told me then that there could be two possible reasons.. (a) stress, or (b) mites!!! Not the kind that lives ON the fur or skin but UNDER the skin!

From my observation, Mochi does not seem to be stressed. So guessing it's mites. Then.... He had to take an injection! Oh the poor little thing! I couldn't bear to watch!

Dr Jenny told me to clean ALL of Mochis' belongings.. Toys, Food holder, Cage, Pouch etc etc and I have done that but I'm still worried for him.

Has anyone here experienced anything of the same? I would like to know what else is there I can do to prevent the mites from reappearing after completing the treatment course (3 injections spreaded evenly over a month and a half, meaning every two weeks once in a month and a half).

when u change to the bigger cage, take out the wheel
that one is not suitable for them...
if can, replace the water bowl with a water bottle
better for him
food bowl is ok
housing...can let himplay there but it would be better to use sleeping pouch

cage definitely gotta change

barking might be due to seeking attention

why cucumber?

get some fresh cut fruits for yr glider..

get water bottle..cost around rm1 to avoid sg pee/poo inside the water bowl..

remove the wheel and the plastic house..create more space for yr glider..don't let him stress.cover the cage with yr cloth ( if any) or any shirt but make sure his 'kuku' doesn't 'sangkut' at the shirt later..

where yr friend put the cage?must be good place and no noisy place eh..

Please take away the cucumber... cucumber is like giving paper for it to eat.. no nutrition.. just water contents. Watermelon can cause watery poo. Apple is just too normal. Get more nutritious fruits. Fruits change variety as they get bored easily. Please take out the wheel asap.. as said by jitshiong and lori.. those can hurt their backs.. and their tails can sangkut.. I would recommend taking out that house thingy also.. altho he can play in it.. but once it become protective its not gonna come out so easy. You cant even put your hands in to take him out. Also cage pls change asap too.

Put a cloth above the cage too like jitshiong said.. make it dark for him.. for 2 days or so dont kacau the fella, just feed.. Give him time to adjust.

Donyou think u cover the whole cage like that the ventilation is really bad for the glider??

And you nid to let the gldier know whether when is daytime and when is night time...now u covered the whole cage is lie 24hours nite time for your glider. This will mess up their biological clock.
