that's what happened to me last weekend... LOL. i know it's really scary! anyway i tried other matter than the shirt way... i quickly put their sleeping pouch near to them and they quickly crawled back in... phew. i guess they felt scare outside the cage and feel safe when they are back to the pouch.

Some joeys tend to be more timid and some are calmer with people. It also depends if the joeys had been handled before or not when they were younger. Like me, I handle my joeys right when they OOP. So they don't really mind handling but once awhile I get either a timid joey or a hyperactive joey. A timid one would be crabby, and scared of new sounds and sudden movement. A hyperactive one would be a joey that cannot stop jumping around and cannot sit still because so curious.

haha..i'm sure micky is one of ur most timid joey..

If u still unsure, then read more bout it only decide..

Is very easy for newbie to grab the glider home n keep... but the hardest part is u hv to sustain the passion for the next 10-15 years... Glider 'looks' cute, but wen u keep for some time, u will realise there are bad character underneath them too..

So, for those who bought the glider just bcoz of their 'cuteness', they will realize they no longer tat 'cute' after sometime..

You can get starter kit from petshack.. they hav few..some are basic, some are luxurious.

The most most most basic glider stuff included cage, pouch, diet, water bottle, bedding can cost you around 200 over...

Proper glider age to be separated is 2months OOP... Since you r asking this ques, i guess you haven read up the info bout glider yet.

Get 1 first, bond with it... then only go for second wan.. easier and better for unexperienced owner.

If you really wanna take up the challenge, then pls take ur initiative and study more. Remember, it's not only a 'challenge', your decision affects a live.

HPW is High Protein Wombaroo Diet. Google then you will know what is it.

Generally, it's a international recognized sugar glider diet. After we use this diet for some time, found that our glider coat improve and helps in odour controlling too.

most probably is frm my garden of my house..
OMG...i dint know that...i always pull her tail...swt cry.gif

Aiyah, you shouldn't do such things to your glider. Yes, it may be an animal but then you are responsible for its health and life, you shouldn't cin cai feed insects. Stop pulling the tail. One day if it breaks or cabut, it won't grow back like cicak.

Do your research slowly. May look cute and all but they require alot of dedication. I put gliders as harder to keep a hamster or cat, almost similar like caring for a dog. But then dogs, you can get accessories, food and vet care easily. Gliders you gotta search and do your research well and it's quite alot of work when starting this hobby.

Read the 1st page, and read some of our blogs here about sugar gliders. At least you will be able to get some idea on how much care and stuff a glider needs.

Yes, he is one of the most timid. Then it goes for Rudy as well. Marley was a bit ok. Rambo was the calmest. Most active is Bijou. Donut is calm, he bonded with his owner in 2 days, Bagel is hyperactive. So many joeys, yet all different in character and personality. Pretzel is hyperactive. Lexii is active but slightly calm.

Resarch research. Read the 1st page. If you have done research on the 1st page, you would know what is HPW.

Breeders, many breeders here. Look at Garage Sales. But beware of cheap joeys coz sometimes you may end up with commercial suppliers that sell underage ones. Again, do your research and understand.

Good effort on the bonding pouch, tho no zip? Also the window mesh is a bit too big. Sorry to say but i think your glider looks mal-nutritioned =x Also correct me if i am wrong.. this image here : http://img87.imageshack.us/i/16092009427.jpg/ the legs are looking as if it has signs of Hind leg paralysis. Sry for being paranoid and rude.. dont' mean to be.. its 2am in the morning and i still cant sleep lol! Oh.. those threads in the bonding pouch isnt good, their nails can get stuck ^^ try to make it neater so that no threads are sticking out.

Loose strings are like BOMBs.. Dunno when they will explode, means if ur glider's feet stuck to it without ur presence, it can lead to death.. Better bcareful ya. We got few cases before.

heyy..i have 2 suggies for nearly a year now and one of my suggies may now become really lazy lah..

she hardly play on the wheel nowadays..and after her meal, she will jump back into sleeping pouch...so i have to take out her pouch for couple of hours after she took her meals..but every time after i put the pouch back, she will jump back and sleep for couple of hours..and only go out if she smell that i'm giving treats or mealies to my other suggies...

ever encounter problem like this? do you think she plain lazy or its a sign of stress or anything?

She hardly play on wheel..u mean over the whole nite?

Since you mentioned u hav two glider, do you hav 2 wheels inside the cage?

If you only offer 1 wheel, one of ur glider may jus dominate the wheel and don let the other go in.
