Anyone collect older Porsches? I notice there's not much 1:18 diecast for Porsche earlier than 1990.

Saw this 928 custom built:

REALCollector: Yes, you are right. It's never easy buying online and overseas. But I guess if you have to buy them online, those are the kind of things that one has to go through. Like they say, no pain, no gain. Anyway, the guy that refunded me GBP 5 for shipping, his 1/18 scale package reached me in one week flat with Royal Mail Signed for.

advocado: The older road car Porsches don't excite me too much. The newer ones yes but only so so. The Le Mans Porsche GT1 version is different though. biggrin.gif

Before I forget, here's a groupie pic of the stuff I got lately as promised. biggrin.gif

Sad that today (as with all Fridays) there weren't any packages that were suppose to come. I know that there are two that have already reached and were already out of Kastams on September 16th but because of the long holidays, I guess Pos Malaysia has to clear a lot of backlog. Hopefully, coming Monday would be a better day. smile.gif

In 1995 when the Mclaren F1 GTR made it's Le Mans debut the Ferrari F40 was nearly it's racing era. As the F1 GTR was too fast for the aging F40. Ferrari decided to build a car that capable to compete with the like of Mclaren F1 GTR, Mercedes CLK GTR and Porsche 911 GT1 was never materialize, cause the F50 GT project was halted after five tubs and one complete car had been made. Racing a million dollar car for the GT series seemed reason enough to quit. Furthermore, Ferrari don't want to divert resources away from Formula One racing. While stiff competition from Porsche, Mercedes Benz and Toyota were have also been mentioned, factor detouring Ferrari from racing, more limited resources and money to develop the F50 GT alongside the F1 and 333SP cars.

MasterLaoDa: Will do. Patience ! biggrin.gif

REALCollector: Wahlau... notworthy.gif You have the Davidoff McLaren ! Hey, are those from IXO? Nice F40.

I thought I read somewhere that the Ferrari F50 GT project was halted to pool all resources and help Schumacher get the WC. I believe only 3 F50 GT cars were built and they were sold only to prominent Ferrari owners and made them promise that they cannot race those cars.

jasonist, the Estoque may be interesting, but the quality of it is downright disappointing..not the usual MM standards..
