myke: No doubt the Minichamps or the Autoart version would be superior than the UT / PMA versions. But the thing is would it be affordable? Secondly, I heard that only limited versions of the McLaren F1 cars would be reproduced. Don't think the Papaya Orange would be one of them. You still need to rely on UT for some of the Le Mans liveries that would not be produced by Minichamps / Autoart.

khsj: Only 1 hour in the diecast shop? cry.gif You have lots of self control. laugh.gif

Say am I tempting you again with the recent item received? drool.gif

subaru22b: yup actually was thinking of getting the sunstar subaru WRC with full livery but at the end decided on the AA subaru plain white version. Later in the year will get the sunstar version. But one factor that made me decide on the AA is the nicer rims compared to the sunstar version. One of the sunstar versions has nice rims but is the night version which wasn't really my taste with the big head lamps at the front. Here are the pics of the subaru models for comparison.

With smaller rims....

With bigger and nicer rims but with the huge headlights

jchue73: i can see ur collection is gigantic!!! im interested to know how u display ur models?

khsj: crispy sharp photos u got there... nice nice!

anyway guys, juz return to malaysia liao... i would like to share my experience of transporting 6 DIECAST CAR MODELS from Melbourne to Kuching. I had a transit in Singapore though.

I divided the 6 cars into 2 packages. 3 in a handcarry plastic bag, another 3 in a check in luggage. With check in luggage, i wrapped the boxes with bubble wraps, then cover them with clothes. As for my handcarry, i wrapped them with bubble wraps as well, and put them into a huge plastic bag...

customs did ask what was in the bag and i told them they're diecasts, managed to avoid any taxes which have been discussed earlier. for hand carry luggage, it should not exceed 7kg (sing airlines policy), my 3 diecasts for the hand carry weigh around 5.75kg.

some info if u guys are to purchase diecasts overseas... pack smart and there shouldnt be any problem! nod.gif

also... back to kuching means photoshoot begins! teaser first... something zooms by fast... brows.gif

tkt:T.R.U.E.N.O icon_rolleyes.gif Good Luck in your hunt...you should try in ebay or else is very very hard to find one...unless i let go... tongue.gif

Blaze Dragon_89: Thanks. My Group C collection is no where compared to yours. notworthy.gif Anyway, I believe Howard Tan also got a C9 test car in 1/43 scale by HPI. My plan now is to find a 1/43 scale of the 1988 AEG car by HPI.

user posted image

Not quite the exact car but close enough...

khsj: Great collection there. The silver Z4 looks good. Wah, the all white Subaru also looks chun. thumbup.gif

What's in the package from Holland? Oh, nice Canon 450D BTW. biggrin.gif

Jasonist: Welcome back. You've come from a place that was relatively easy to get diecast to a place where it is quite impossible to get diecast. laugh.gif So yeah, you're quite limited to BTS at the moment. sad.gif

Great tips and sharing with regards to ferrying your diecast. One thing I did not do was to bubble wrap my stuff when I hand carried it on board the plane. Because of that, one of the boxes was a little dented. sad.gif

royjepun: Thanks. The Exoto really gives a lot of satisfaction but it's currently one of the more expensive ones in my current collection. cry.gif

myke: Leave one for you? Hell no ! laugh.gif I'm a McLaren nut. Muahahaha...
