how often do u guys do long distance ride?

just came back from my Penang trip.
Ipoh to Penang took me bout 3 hours plus for one way.
Mileage for one way is about 200 km +/-.
Maintained speed at 90kmh-LC meter

quite worry bout my engine though.
anyway will long distance ride do any harm to the engine?

better not always full throttle la if long distance. i heard that if always full throttle, later the LC will lose its power. not sure its true or not....

90kph is so slow la if using highway. u will get bored easily.
i always maintain around 120-140kph for long distance. So far so good.
If lose power, no choice other than doing top services or overhaul ur engine.
Just keep ur EO refresh. I have a friend forgot to look out for his EO untill low level already... doh.gif

I heard if we open up or overhaul our engine the smoothness and power will not be as good as new engine.

True or false?

yups i'm using same method as dis. juz speeding whenever necessary eg like overtaking buses @ lorries.

Else juz maintain from 90-120kph.

BTW why did some of my buddies keep saying dat their 2nd & 3rd generation LC can't pass over 140kph? I'm using the 3rd gen btw(the gold
rim one) and if there's no "wind obstacle" my bike can't up to 160-170kph like dat..

so u are lucky la. New lc batch average top speed 120kph-140kph. Very hard to get same speed like yours.
Congrats there... thumbup.gif

hoho maybe my luck. But its not so easy to get those optimum speed. Depend on wind condition and has to
"tunduk' a bit tongue.gif

Some said dat yamaha adjust the CDI to max at 140 oni eh? Maybe due to safety reason.. hmm.gif

BTW any of u guys here already using dis? Any review/comment etc? i planned to put it to my bike oso.

i'm using a chain tensioner also.but not as fancy and nice like the racing boy's lah.

so far i still didn't have to change my sprocket and chain since i bought the bike.maybe it's because i lube it often also.

the thing is supposed to reduce wear and tear to the sprocket and chain by tensioning it so that the chain won't flop around loosely causing unnecessary damage.

Chain tensioner is good to prevent loose chain and fasten up gear changing as well as prevent lost in power. But u still need to adjust both the chain n the tensioner as well. At least that's what i learnt from foreman.

ur bike modded or stock?? If stock then buying factory programmed CDI such as BRT Dual band/hyperband is recommended. But if u really pro on this thinggy, no harm buying those fancy CDI.

not ori lor, but bought from Indonesia (Jupiter MX). The materials a bit harder than ori stripe but it is shining quite well and the installation a bit tricky.

it will nt cause any damage if ur setting is within 11.5k rpm for stock bike...if u planing to mod in the future then better take rextor or i-max...

No lar, its just if u know the correct way of setting the CDI then no prob. I have a friend installed rextor in his 1st version LC, the performance dropped then it supposed to be. its just the setting.
