Diff driver? rms means nothing really...<-this is what audiophile's said

gerald : rms isnt a very good way to determine the quality of a speaker. generally the RMS influnce the speaker's volume, rarely the sound quality. look at the build material and speaker drivers instead. speakers like R451 and R501MKII have tweeters, and sounds better compared to single drivers like the t5900

hmm...t5900 also have tweeter now... But the cone material then i dont know...

just using my s4.1 to watch dvd movie...the sound quality reaaly makes me ...clarity is damn good... ...it's very diffrent from my altec,jbl and logitech speakers...but the bass is still a bit soft is compare to altec and logi...but still acceptable la...

guess i wil not going back to my other set of speakers for quite a while after listening to edifier...haha...

I did lesten to R501 not mkII, how come the sate sound seems so mix up...not clear...in techno music....the woofer sound quite loose, and worse is the port hole got distortion noice when its in heavy bass music....

But it sound quite nice when they playing the demo game cd, the shooting, glass breaking sound....single sound is good if quite sound together then

And worse, only one edifier seller in kuching...sell the r501 for rm429, retail at rm489...

WTF????

I'm using SBLive 5.1 ..it enough for me..it sound very good match with my R501..

Hmmm... a lof of factors matter for listening:
- environment.
- speaker placement for sub and satellites.
- speaker unit settings (maybe the bass, surround, centre volume not set correctly or the volume set too loud or too low)
- sound source is crappy. (ie: crappy sound card, poor wiring, sound card settings not adjusted properly, cd player may be faulty, etc)
- sound material is of poor quality (ie: low bitrate, poor recording quality, etc)

Best is, when u are on ur trip to Peninsular Malaysia, do drop by the Edifier Showroom in Lowyat Plaza 4th Floor for a listening experience that would be much better than what you have there.

x600 price is Rm179. If you wanna test just come to the showroom

today just bought my Edifier R401...

but too bad the Edifier showroom didnt open today... ><

I test the speaker at MyPC (The Hindu worker damn friendly)

X600 not as good as wat i respect (bass powerful but too loose)

R401 bass not as powerful as X600 but bass more tight and sound more nice... ^^

R401 will sounds good if u use some audio enhancer software like DFX...as the sats is not really good without the help of it.
