without changing to subwoofer, u can try out the options below:

1. Change the big capacitor inside the subwoofer to better brand (more important) and/or higher uF.

2. Add sponge to the subwoofer.

3. Subwoofer placement, e.g nearer to the corner of your room wall.

Have a nice try..

but once he do any opition as above, anything happen to the speaker set the warantee gone.(except option number 3) smile.gif

for the option number 3, nearer to corner will not tighter the bass, it will just increase the bass reflection. (eg too near corner will make the bass become boomy)

just my 2 cent... cheers smile.gif

Well, he already mention he really want to mod his speaker.

For other placement, how about put the subwoofer on a carpet?

today just go tested the S2.1MKII again, this times it make me change my mind. this times its sound really better, brighter and tighter. according to the staff there, previously the satelite got a bit problem, its sound cant voice out, thus make the sound very dark. over all i feel this speaker is really quite good, at least i feel it is better than AL MX5021, FX6021, logitech Z2300. but the speaker cable is really very very thin... look like poor cable sweat.gif

to change the capasitor and to add sponge already in my mind but my problem know is after i open te box..i want to seal it back nicely like original and i donno this is possible or not...that day i go to lwyat plaza to test s2.1mkII and also to fine wether there is a shop for speaker modding but the answer is no..

i use onboard sound card coz my creative sound blaster live cant support 6 speaker...i think want to change to audigy 2 and if there got improvement in bass sound then i will keep use this speaker. hmm.gif

I have somthing unclear about these speakers. Pls help me !
in comparison :
---------
I/
--1/AL CS-21 -->109$
--2/Klipsch GMX A 2.1 (using now but i will sell it soon) -costed me 160$
--3/Edifier S 2.1(D or non D) ~115$ + shipping (~10-20$)
--4/AL MX 5021 --> 149$
Which one is the best ? (for the Performance and ratio Performance/Price )
---------

II/
Let's take AL ATP3 (the best price i may pick it up is 49$) as the base line for this little battle on speaker. (my friend's small but powerful speaker).
Have a see @ these speaker :

--1/ Logitech X-230--> 55$
--2/ Edifier M2300 --> 42$
--3/ Edifier M3300 -->42$
--4/ Edifier M3400 -->49$
--5/ Edifier M3310 --> 46$

Which one will outperform AL ATP3 ? (In clarity and bass reproduction - I care much about the clarity ). Which one has the best ratio Performance/Price ?

Regard,

besaid

for I/,i would not dare to say much as i myself did not really tried any of the above mentioned speakers...but from comments by fellow LYNs,i guess Klipsch GMX A 2.1 easily rule them all.if u want a change,i would recommend waiting for the Edifier S2.1 MKII,it really got everyone excited.downside is...its still awhile from being available in market...

Performance and ratio Performance/Price???i guess you should not mind so much bout it since you can afford a klipsch,the MKII price is something everybody is waiting but expect somethin 500-700 in malaysia,dont know bout your place...
(where are you from?USA rclxub.gif ???)

for II/...i do not want to comment on logitech as i also never tested in personally but for edifiers...go for M3300 if u want more bass while M3310 if you want something less bassy...both satelites are the same.any M3XXX beats ATP3 easily.M2300 lacks tweeter,so forget bout it.give E3100 a try also if bass is not your priority.the clarity is GOOD thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

i think i give a wrong suggestion for the subwoofer placement. doh.gif

however, u can try to put the subwoofer on a carpet or block the subwoofer hole with a cloth, some say it can tighter and give cleaner bass.

For the moding, u need to do it yourself. If u are lucky u can find a shop / somebody to do it for u. U can get all the things u need from jalan pasar.

I'm not using the same speaker model, so i can't imagine how much u need to seal your subwoofer after opened. My S4.1 just need to unscrew and screw back the 14 screws. That's all. rclxms.gif

Thx for your nice reply ..but i got the completely advice from my friends hmm.gif They told me that AL ATP3 wont disappoint me at the price 49$. Maybe Edifier is so new in my place.
We dont have the authorized distributor of Edifier in Vietnam and some local warehouses have just brought on some sample speaker sets of Edifier. I'm from Vietnam.

The reason for me to a look @ Edifier brand is that i had heard that they were selected as the 1st Speaker Manufacturer in China rclxms.gif (i forgot the year they achieved it doh.gif ).
