Why not get something with a better GPU?

between HD550v and HD5650, will there be any obvious differences in term of performance in productivity, FB games, video editing, movie watching (avi,mkv etc)? thanks

Upping your budget buy a few hundred and getting a HD5470 at the very least? Or wait for Sandy Bridge.

why the rating of world best mobility GPU are like this:

1st - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470M SLI
2nd -NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480M SLI

Just played Left 4 Dead on Intel HD graphics,Core i3 370M on my HP G42 laptop,

got a stable 30-40 FPS average with all settings medium and 1024x768 res,

Not bad for an intergrated graphics,will test just cause 2 after this

Me thinks it's rated based on Vantage. GTX470M SLI scored higher.

GTX470/485 has a newer GF104 core.
GTX 480 is based on an old core GF100.

It is just like Wolfdale and Allendale of Intel.
Newer core, better.

New GF104 core has better performance as well as more efficient SLI scaling.
(It is also a known fact that GTX460 for desktop, based on GF104 core, has excellent SLI scaling).

How big is the difference between geforce gt540m and geforce gt 550M. Is it big enough to be significant and worth adding about rm400-500 upgrading from 540m to 550m

was reading about the latest intel integrated gfx intel 3000... this one is almost on par with geforce gt330!

bloody hell....

no need to buy laptop with dedicated gfx to play some of the mainstream game anymore!
