Shared memory with system RAM I think

But the amount of VRAM is like... the typical selling point for all salesmen when they try to sell some graphic cards. And the thing is... people think that more is better sometimes.

But the benchmarks now say otherwise due to immature drivers. So you'll have to wait a few months to see improvement.

GT425M beats GT335M nowadays. Closer to the HD5650 but still loses out a bit to it.

Well in most games, the difference is slight. But I'm kinda fed up of Optimus sometimes. Little to no battery life saved yet hampers some applications.

Why not get something with a better GPU?

Upping your budget buy a few hundred and getting a HD5470 at the very least? Or wait for Sandy Bridge.

Me thinks it's rated based on Vantage. GTX470M SLI scored higher.

Benchmark tests on the leaked version says it's as if not more optimized compared to Warhead but it's only for DX9 so far.

The GTS260M is still more powerful than the HD6830M. GTX260M is much more powerful than both of them.

Well the difference in performance is not that much. The GT425M would be better than the GT335M but not as much as to notice the difference.

I can play Crysis 2 on high settings in 1366 x 768 resolution with a GT335M which is slower than a GT525M. I think that says a lot.

Pretty smooth for me. Around 30+ FPS.

I just checked again, on very high it drops to around 25-30. Extreme drops it to less than 20.

I have a desktop and a PS3. They are both in my hometown so I can't use when I'm in college on weekdays.

And comparatively, the PS3's graphics can barely match my laptop's graphics so I think there's little point of keeping it now.

Why not just force the GT540M on?

GT540M is comparable to a desktop GT430.

And no, Intel HD3000 still very far behind. Slightly better than G310M level.

Seems like the memory bandwidth is smaller now and it has less ROP but compensates for it with extra clock speed and shader units.

Problem with the G74SX demo unit is that it uses a 'crippled' GTX560M with a smaller memory bandwidth and VRAM size.
