QUOTE(miahahaha @ May 12 2010, 09:36 AM) The reason why, RAM sometimes are mis-read by people ..well, for some that got little knowledge about GC that is..got one friend of mine saying his GC is 2GB VRAM but its Intel HD ...how?? Shared memory with system RAM I think But the amount of VRAM is like... the typical selling point for all salesmen when they try to sell some graphic cards. And the thing is... people think that more is better sometimes.

But the benchmarks now say otherwise due to immature drivers. So you'll have to wait a few months to see improvement.

GT425M beats GT335M nowadays. Closer to the HD5650 but still loses out a bit to it.

Well in most games, the difference is slight. But I'm kinda fed up of Optimus sometimes. Little to no battery life saved yet hampers some applications.

Why not get something with a better GPU?

QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ Feb 20 2011, 08:07 PM) how to guess since we don't have any idea how good is Crytek Engine performance this time. anyhow, maybe possible without native resolution. precise FPS is totally unknown tho. Benchmark tests on the leaked version says it's as if not more optimized compared to Warhead but it's only for DX9 so far. http://www.techspot.com/review/367-crysis2...ance/page5.html

QUOTE(raymond1989 @ Feb 21 2011, 04:45 PM) Wanna ask here, is it gt260m better than ATI 6570 ddr5? QUOTE(eugenechiuu @ Feb 21 2011, 07:20 PM) u mean GTS 260M right? It's quite an old GPU dy and laptops which come with it won't have SB processors, DDR5 HD6570 in HP-dv6 is definitely better... The GTS260M is still more powerful than the HD6830M. GTX260M is much more powerful than both of them. This post has been edited by AlexLai: Feb 21 2011, 09:49 PM

QUOTE(crave17 @ Feb 22 2011, 01:51 PM) How good is 2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 425M in XPS 14 compared to 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 335M in Alienware M11X? Well the difference in performance is not that much. The GT425M would be better than the GT335M but not as much as to notice the difference.

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ Mar 24 2011, 12:25 PM) GT525 > HD5650 slightly nia.. clock higher i think more than enough play mostly game in medium.. I can play Crysis 2 on high settings in 1366 x 768 resolution with a GT335M which is slower than a GT525M. I think that says a lot. This post has been edited by AlexLai: Mar 24 2011, 07:37 PM

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ Mar 30 2011, 09:54 AM) Added on March 30, 2011, 9:55 amwanna play games buy desktop or ps3 better.. I just checked again, on very high it drops to around 25-30. Extreme drops it to less than 20. I have a desktop and a PS3. They are both in my hometown so I can't use when I'm in college on weekdays. And comparatively, the PS3's graphics can barely match my laptop's graphics so I think there's little point of keeping it now. This post has been edited by AlexLai: Mar 30 2011, 05:08 PM

QUOTE(remonx @ Apr 20 2011, 09:21 PM) Laptop gpu nvidia 540m is on par with which desktop graphic card?? need comment from all the sifus! Added on April 20, 2011, 9:22 pmintel hd3000 is>540m? GT540M is comparable to a desktop GT430. And no, Intel HD3000 still very far behind. Slightly better than G310M level.

QUOTE(Amal @ Apr 24 2011, 03:04 PM) Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M launch approaching LINK : GTX 560MHow much faster do you guys think this compare to a GTX 460M? Hard to say, here's a comparison: http://www.behardware.com/news/11362/cebit...asus-g74sx.htmlSeems like the memory bandwidth is smaller now and it has less ROP but compensates for it with extra clock speed and shader units.

Problem with the G74SX demo unit is that it uses a 'crippled' GTX560M with a smaller memory bandwidth and VRAM size.
