@albnok and hanafinoor - thanks for the comment  laugh.gif

i never knew aperture take a major role in term of image sharpness, i always thought that shutter speed play a more important role in term of producing a sharp image. looks like aperture and shutter speed play an equally important role in order to produce a sharp image. i have one question, if i want to take a landscape picture, my A suppose to be as high as possible ? so that everything will be detailed ?

When taking landscapes, it's advisable to use the 'sweet spot' of whatever lens you are using. Typically the 'sweet spot' is around F8 to F11 after which the details in the pic will suffer from what is called 'diffraction' of the lens, smudging the details in the pic.

I usually use F8 and I find that it's DOF is enough for APS-C sensors.

For landscape, I normally use low aperture (high F number like f14 etc) .. It is because high aperture will produce bokeh. thus, it is not good for landscape (only sharp at focusing point)... for landscape shoot, it is important to have a tripod because you will use long exposure (slow shutter speed) to get right exposure .. smile.gif ..

This is one of the example with low aperture and long exposure I snapped a couple of months ago:

nabelon: I quite like #2 because it is simple - there's just the singer and the band in the back, in yellow. The angle could've been better though. I like #3's angle!

yuenzhi: That's a good angle, getting down to eye level!

thanks albnok, I am still learning on compo, if you have any tips it would be helpful smile.gif. Btw, ISO 400 seems a bit noisy on my a300.

i get about 500 - 800 shots on A350... for a 4-5 hours shoot...
if use live view often, then the shoots decreased.. to about 500..

on 2 batteries (grip).. went up to 1200+ shots RAW for a 10 hours+ shoot..

yup... ISO400 and above doesnt look too good on a300/350 cameras... usually i fix to ISO200..

anyway, the keyword is... "capture the moment"... most important is your picture to be properly focused...
this is from my wedding experience... smile.gif

Added on August 17, 2009, 1:48 pmyesterday i was in sungai wang to buy my lens and flashgun, and then i asked the person in the shop whether he has any crumpler 7 million dollar home, he took one one looks just like 7 million dollar home bag from the outside. when i opened it i saw the tag at the back of the back(picture i uploaded) it says 'the senven million dollar home'. n then i got suspicious so i asked the person how much was the bag, he said RM250. n then i know that bag its a fake ! although i asked the shop person if the bag was ori or fake, he said its ori, BULLSHIT ! so becareful ppl out there, if u see a 7 million dollar home bag make sure u check it first

this picture was taken from an ori one not the 'senven' million dollar home =)

Usually when I shoot landscape, I use the smallest aperture where the shutter is around 1/30. On a bright day, it could go up to F32. This is because, my understanding is the higher the aperture, the bigger the DOF.

/A/, am I doing it right?
