oh.. ok .. thanks.. but the price still more expensive than wat i get quoted in SG.. they quote me for $195.
*
Why dont get the HVL-F58AM Flash... way better for flash photography.. more confidence when using low ISO...

I can get any Alpha cameras & accessories for cheap (dealer price)... just check out my thread at the street mart forum..

Added on July 29, 2009, 3:23 pmAlpha A800 coming soon in September. Sony already discontinued the A700 model. Reason for delay, this model might kill the sale of A900 as it has superior low light performance (rumours says better than Nikon or Canon) as its using the new Exmor-R CMOS sensor... they have applied this new sensor into its prosumer handycams with excellent low light results...

hmmm... same here man... for a year so far... how is it? i mean is it really difficult? i plan to do weddings too... really need to cari makan la nowadays, difficult times... sad.gif
*
been doing northern indian weddings can be extremely difficult, with tonnes of traditions and rituals.. with the A350 i am abit struggling at times.. waiting for the rumored new models to come up A850 or something, hopefully Full Frame....

anyway, just want to learn from some masters how to think out of the box... be creative... in tight situations & where speed is necessary...

owh, then u can be my sifu la bro. haha
well if u want to find really good wedding photographer, i suggest u look at photomalaysia or photokaki as all the legendary wedding photographers hangs there...bear in mind, MOST of them is not on the same boat as us laugh.gif
*
yeah.. they are in the Canon or Nikon boat... but they forgot Sony's CZ & G lenses will eat their lenses for breakfast... cant match in this category... though i admit Alpha really suck at ISO 400 & above... when shooting at ISO100-200, really put a strain on you flash as it needs to work harder to provide more light...

ok... now armed with an A200 myself, i was always worrying about indian weddings too... not too mention low light conditions... now... honestly, do u shoot at ISO1600/3200 when desperate... cos sometimes the clients dont really pixel peep do they...
*
i really dont dare going above ISO400 at even low light, usually for creative shots, I use F2.8, ISO400 & Shutter around 1/4 to 1/15 without Flash.

shooting at ISO1600/3200 can might as well throw away those images.. will make yourself look bad.. real bad...

will do safriz. haha... got flickr, but only uploaded very very little photos... and now my CF is so full i don't have anywhere to store my photos (pc tengah down sbb bilik tgh renovate  sad.gif )
shutter around 1/4 to 1/15 without flash? wah...

but i definitely agree wit you on the ISO1.6/3k part... that's why i was desperate to jump to the A700.... but still no money coming in from my equipment... so yea i gotta wait... for the A800/850 or sumthin i hope...  laugh.gif
*
slow shutter for creative shots or deco shots using natural lighting only... smile.gif
A100-A900 all have the same noise issue above ISO400... probably A700 wont help much there, but the speed & accuracy will definitely help alot...

anyway, for best results will be using in RAW mode, the JPEG files on A200-A350 really sucks compared to Canon/Nikon equivalent...
i am using Sandisk Extreme III 16GB card, can shoot up to 1200 RAW photos in single card and very stable, no issues so far... but this single card cost me RM400+ in October last year...

heard the latest firmware improved the noise reduction on high ISO... care to post some ISO1600 shots on A700.. would love to see that... might want to get the A700, but the Sony Stores are running fast out of stock...

QUOTE(achew @ Jul 31 2009, 05:06 PM)
im quite a pixel peeper...but for wedding..capture the moment is much more important than pixel peeping..if really really cannot...i rather increase to 800/1600 instead of getting blurry photos....the noise would be terrible..but well..at least u capture it..and there are chances where u could save it during your PP....and usually if ppl print the photos..it wont be so big..so the noise isnt that obvious too...
*
probably.. just hope Sony really improves at this noise department though... they have implemented at the new Handycams (Exmor-R sensors).. wondering when it will appear on the DSLR...

anyway, i have done a 6 days indian wedding marathon recently, nearly 6000 shots at mostly ISO200, image quality is superb (thanks to my newly acquired Carl Zeiss SAL2470Z, god how much I love this lens)... only a few shots got screwed (too dark) when the flash became tired and failed to fire.. thankfully they were shot in RAW, can do some rescue operation...

wandering how long i have to wait for the A700 replacement model...

Low light shooting most importantly get flash la imo. Even f1.8 without flash would look abit weird.
*
depends, for moving objects/people always best using flash to mantain a high shutter speed..

but for deco/creative shots, slow shutter + tripod + no flash = will give excellent results...

practise practise practise... smile.gif

That's why I'm looking forward to a affordable FF (*hint* A850 *hint*) to be released soon.

It will open up a whole new door to lenses. Kit lens replacement? No problem. You can use a Sigma 28-75 f2.8 or the KM28-75 or the KM 24-85 or the SAL24-105 or the KM 24-105 and the list goes on and that's discounting the premium Zeiss glass.

Want a ultra wide angle? Just get a Sigma 20mm or the SAL20mm and you have a decent ultra wide that you can use for more than landscapes.

The 50mm becomes more than a portrait lens automagically!! You can easily do street shoots with this one lens alone. You wanna travel, just pack the 20mm and the 50mm and you're all set!

If you have a little bit more to spend, get the SAL70300G and you are all set. Your set up:

1. 20mm prime (landscapes, outdoor environmental portraitures, large groups)
2. 50mm prime (street shoots, small groups and normal portraits)
3. 70-300mm (telephoto portraits)

Not one of the lenses exceeding RM3k and you've got most of the things covered! And you get big apertures for 2 out of 3 of your lenses!!!
*
This is my future setup for wedding photography

1. A900/A850 with SAL2470Z Carl Zeiss
2. A850/A350 with SAL70200G G Series + UWA Prime lens

RM20K-RM25K
