QUOTE(cRazYee @ Feb 1 2010, 03:04 AM) yes, you use another computer to do it ahhh so true. TC price was reasonable when it first launched.time capsule consider as another device, not computer with computer, we can do literally everything, but time capsule is a specific device for specific task overpriced or not, it's just the price never drop since the product launch. I did my research last time, to get a similar Dual band router then serve same purpose from other brand, like netgear, linksys, Dlink it costs even more (at the time this new tech introduce), just after sometimes, they started to slashing the price to sell it, and apple don't QUOTE(viper-xs @ Feb 1 2010, 04:29 AM) Possibly blocked? I have MSN,aMSN and Adium (long story on how I ended up with this 3) and all are working fine without any tweak. I supposed the only possible reason is blocked. Doubt they are changing some protocol etc since I just got connected to it anyway. Plus normally I think if changes in protocol only those like aMSN and Adium might be affected as they said, no one can confirm. MBP 13" really needs an upgrade to justify the price difference from the macbook. new MBP 13 sometime before april is likely lah, but no guarantees ;pAdded on February 1, 2010, 4:31 amQuick question. The expected MBP refresh coming soon will affect MBP 13" as well? Reason since I wanted to get a MB 13" as a gift but seeing the price difference not that much plus lighter etc compared to MBP 13" I might go with that one. If this refresh going to affect MBP 13" might as well I just wait for couple more months. |

i agree with kwekeugene
the extra rm500 better spend on protection stuff. e.g. sleeve, casing, bag, or applecare protection plan (need to top up la hehe) |

QUOTE(cRazYee @ Feb 24 2010, 07:26 PM) malaysian consumers are always blind with the hardware spec, which is kind of sad i dont think it's only 'malaysian consumers' A mac is more than a computer, is a piece of products when speaking of product, there are something more in engineering and design than hardware spec btw i have a pretty different opinion though... i dun think macs are 'designed from the ground up to suit OSX'. it's still a computer with pretty much the same components. the only thing 'designed for OSX' is probably juz multitouch, and the lack of 'on bluetooth' and 'on wifi' buttons..which is good! it's nice to see apple trying to improve the design of computers as a whole, w/o relation to OSX. until now we still need to hands to pry open a typical windows laptop...with macbooks we only need one finger. great display, huge trackpad, n good looks. makes me wonder why other companies dont put much effort on this stuff. they're the ones competing in the windows world, but it's like there's no competition at all when we look at their hardware designs |

QUOTE(viper-xs @ Feb 25 2010, 05:48 AM) My own personal laptop I bought it in 1996 (NEC) after that sometime in 2001 I bought a normal PC. Then a few Sun servers arrived into my life and nothing else. Then last year I bought a Mac the thing is, what's the use of more CPU power if the system is going to be slowed down by antivirus or malware anyway? I don't look for spec. If I need to, well I have my Sun which certainly can do intensive computing power that I need. The only Windows that I have now is on office laptop I do tend to see alot of people aligned that way. They tend to compare CPU power etc. That's life anyway. If it doesn't go that way then Apple will be the only computer maker in the world. lol QUOTE(neekun @ Feb 25 2010, 07:49 AM) The price should be RM229 for all shops. If they charge higher than that please make a complain to Apple Malaysia. thx, i never knew we can complain about thisUnit 02, Plaza Level, Block A, Wisma Tenggara No 45, Medan Setia 1, Plaza Damansara Bukit Damansara, 50490 Kuala Lumpur 603-2711 1888 QUOTE(Masamune @ Feb 25 2010, 09:07 AM) Guys...i have a problem when i play games using bootcamp.. warcraft3 shouldnt heat up ur system much. you can try open the back panel and clean ur fans and heatsink, maybe they're just clogged with dustOnly recently this problem turn up..Is that halfway playing my screen turns black.. I only play warcraft 3 and it was never this hot..Its so hot until putting ur hand on it becomes unbearable.. is there something wrong with my mac? The heat sink maybe? I'm running 10.6.2 and windows 7 Macbook Alu 2.4GHz.. |

QUOTE(digilife @ Feb 27 2010, 05:29 PM) abt SL if i wan the family pack its rm109 + rm80? family pack is Rm189. the difference is family pack contains 5 licenses (or is it 3? someone help clarify on this), meaning u can legally install on 5 macs. and yes, u can use a single DVD to install on multiple macs without activation, it's just that it's against the EULA.wats the difference between the family and non family pack? i tot SL can be installed into numerous mac machines without activation like Windows my mac book now is installed wif Win7 , so any pointers if i wanna install SL back into my mac? juz by pressing the C button as the dvd boots up??? pls advice thanks do u mean ur macbook now only has windows7 with no mac partition? if u still have a mac partition, then just boot into OSX, insert the SL dvd n juz follow the instructions, very easy if no mac partition, boot up, quickly insert DVD and press C before the chime. when the dvd loads, at the top go to Utilities > Disk Utility. create a partition for OSX. im not sure if this works though, nvr did it myself. if u dont mind getting rid of the windows partition, juz format the disk (obviously u shud copy ur files somewhere else 1st) n install SL |

QUOTE(digilife @ Feb 27 2010, 08:08 PM) i will definately follow your guide when i install SL. oic. if u gonna wipe then no problem. juz go into disk utility as i mentioned, select ur drive on the left (the drive, not the volume), go to the Erase tab, n erase now my mac only hav one partition, ie Win7 and i gonna wipe clean the HDD to do a clean SL install thanks bro and btw, currently my mac's Win7 dont detect any bluetooth support, if i install back SL, will bluetooth be able to use again as i guess my 2.4GHz mac comes wif bluetooth module rite? all macs have bluetooth module. it doesnt work in win7 probably because of no driver support. it should work fine in OSX. did it work before u install win7? |

QUOTE(killz23 @ Feb 28 2010, 06:33 PM) I don' know what's wrong with my Macbook white 13.3inch polycarbonate..It's lagging sometimes.. probably.. here's how to find out http://ninezerothree.wordpress.com/2010/01...am-do-you-need/Perhaps its because I like to multitask? I always have Firefox, Chrome, YM, Skype, Word and Mail open at the same time..And tens of tabs open on each browser too.. Is that why? Should I upgrade to 4gb ram? |

QUOTE(mememe12 @ Mar 1 2010, 10:12 AM) i heard the Mac staff said that.. if we load Windows and Mac OS at the same time.. the performance will be half only? means let say i hv 4GB Ram.. become 2GB for Mac, 2GB for Windows.. unless use the bootcamp and restart everytime i switch from Mac to Win or Win to Mac? not necessarily half. in parallels or vmware u can set how much RAM to allocate to the virtual machine, n whether to use only single core or two. it's up to u, but obviously u cant run both OS at full speed at the same timeQUOTE(Kai1492 @ Mar 1 2010, 11:24 AM) hey guys...i tried using bootcamp to install windows xp...but for some reason it cant detect the disk im having similar problems too |

QUOTE(cRazYee @ Mar 3 2010, 08:50 PM) shut down your computer u mean i have to bring my laptop into the toilet? then press Power button + Shit + option + Cmd once will do, then wait for 5 seconds turn on your mac, then you will see standby light blink for couple second then your mac only start. this thing happen when you boot from to mac from windwos (this is what i found) anyway thanks. will try this after my downloads finish. curious though, what does this do actually? uhm i dont think it's only when boot from mac to windows... cuz i dont have windows partition.. Added on March 3, 2010, 9:46 pm QUOTE(RyanHo @ Mar 3 2010, 09:23 PM) may i ask a dumb ques, if anything goes wrong to my win7 and crash wif my macbook, can i still send it back to apple for warranty? if there's something wrong with win7, it's not apple's fault. call microsoftbtw installing windows wont spoil ur macbook until cannot use. worse case u juz have to reinstall windows, that's all. it wont even interrupt OSX This post has been edited by dvlzplayground: Mar 3 2010, 09:46 PM |

QUOTE(jphlau @ Mar 4 2010, 02:12 PM) Why do you have to boot up your mac? I seldom shut mine off. If I am using it, then I just let it to sleep. This is the great feature of osx where when the mac is put to sleep, it does not use a lot of juice. when not using i juz shut down. feels like im taking good care of it..hahaQUOTE(cRazYee @ Mar 4 2010, 07:04 PM) i got a fren mac gone case because wow. force shut down meaning holding down the power button until off?(she is made in china) she always force to restart or shut down her windows xp and literally kill the HDD QUOTE(neekun @ Mar 4 2010, 08:04 PM) I am using Aperture 3 for some simple photo editing, so far ok. No slow or lagging. oh ya i tried out aperture 3 the other day. no lag for me too Yup, RAM is important. Max is out if you can afford |
