If the fan you wanted to put back there to suck up the air, maybe its a good idea, but you need a good air intake too to utilize it fully, or it will cause negative air (too much air pull outside and not much air inside). Its weird that they don't put a hole directly on CPU fan, it just bare with no vented holes. There are a lot of CM Infinite, you need to buy the right one, preferable bought the notebook with you and check whether it cools the vent holes or not

That cooler is not good, although it is big, but I don't think it will be any better than smaller fans on branded ones

The 15 does have a better processor as 3DM06 is very CPU dependant, and it costs RM800 more. You get what you pay

No, I have zero issue with the VIA deck, download the latest one from ASUS site here

As for the driver, you can download the latest Catalyst and use Mobility modder to enable Mobility support, the latest one has support for HD 4XXX series which made me happy

Why so surprised? It got VIA chip inside so why install Realtek driver?

The SRS is just an enhancer, it can't work without the sound driver, so saying you don't have the original driver is a lie

Oh I thought its the opposite, how suck is it? The driver? Compatibility?

I know how you feel, I have used Realtek ALC888 before, its not that good, its worse than anything onboard I tested (Analog Device AD1988B, and this VIA chip). In games too it have borked EAX that sound very wrong.

Actually I quite surprised how well this VIA sound when I plug my headphone (Koss KSC-75), its totally listenable and rather nice even compared to my desktop

Windows 7 already have the driver ready for it, but it lacks some stuff that the real driver have, that is why you can use SRS without problem. The driver provided in CD have some problem, I don't use them, download from ASUS site on the link I give above

What you plan to use it for? Both are pretty similar, maybe the IN have better performance and battery saving because of Intel CPU, but don't quote me for that. For gaming HD 4570 is better, not by a mile, but definitely better, both are low end laptop anyway

Oh sorry, I mean download from VIA site, the name of the codec is VT1708s, the latest driver is v6.50. Try to google it, my connection is slow so I have difficulty browsing around

You can install the SRS on the CD

Yes there are no driver problem, I not bothered with PowerXpress thing, it have no benefits so I just use HD 4570. The new driver might fix it but not tried yet

You can select compatibility to Vista on the setup.exe and it will run as normal afterwards

Yes I use 7, I never liked Vista in the first place, too bloated. 7 is more refined and better performing than Vista. Everything work like clockwork, there is few things, like brightness setting won't change, but that probably AMD/ATi driver messed up the setting as if I use the stock 7 driver brightness works fine, or the brightness setting only work if I use the onboard HD3200 when on desktop. But usually I just use one setting, that is 50% brightness on all occasion so no prblem for me there. I can't think any other problem, if I have I'll add

Vista driver do work on 7, just enable compatibilty mode to Vista and you good to go
