QUOTE(veriz88 @ Oct 6 2009, 12:53 PM) Can anyone tell me how to update / install latest maps for garmin xt? copy the IMG file from the net and replace the existing one in your Garmin Folder.Since my N97 comes with pre-installed Garmin xt, do i have to go through the steps @ 1st page of this forum (too many things to install), or is there any easier way i can just update my maps to the latest ones? How do i know if my maps are MFM or MSM? Added on October 6, 2009, 1:06 pm QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Oct 6 2009, 12:33 PM) It says the new v20 firmware can store 3500 contact numbers. I wonder who so famous to store that much? I got more then 200, so the kinetic scroll does help in this part. hah Mine also 200++ nos. This post has been edited by shchiam1978: Oct 6 2009, 01:06 PM |

Found out that my battery charging issue is due to ver 12.
Need to do hard reset. Anyway, not going to do that now. just have to wait for ver 20. |

okay.. many asking whether or not they should get white. Here's mine after 3mo+ of moderate usage. Although I'm a housewife, I travel almost every weekend.. brought it and facebooking on the beach once. I rely quite heavily on GPS, I surf a lot.. I have online biz so I reply mails a lot. I dun play much games except the touchscreen ones. I take photos/videos almost daily. Oh and I have 2 year old with sticky hands and likes to play bubbles on my n97. I've never really cleaned it since I bought it. I just purchased a pdair silicone case and got them last week so today I had some free time I thought I clean up the accumulated dirt. I've been using the pouch that comes with it until I put on the silicon cover last week.
Hope you dun mind many pictures... ![]() hence the dirt accumulated.. I dun see yellowish discoloration more like black marks. cept for the d-pad.. it's brownish.. ![]() where the dirt is most noticeable I read somewhere in here that we can use eraser to clean it up.. so that's what I did.. thanks for the tips! ![]() see the difference? ![]() another view, part dirty part cleaned with eraser ![]() eversince I heard that the lense cover can be self damaging, I've been careful not to put too much pressure when sliding it open/close so after 3mo+.. still no scratch.. PHEW!! ![]() this is after I've finished cleaning more photos on 3mo+ white n97 here the rest of the photos shows the keyboard after and before the keys themselves remains white but the board is dirty.. and the d-pad cannot be cleaned.. some micro scrathes.. camera lense free from scratches (so far-- thank god), then how the phone looks like after cleaning up.. how the silicon case looks like.. sorry for the long post hope this helps those who are considering getting white. It'll get dirty, yes.. it's cleanable except for the d-pad after I tried cleaning it with the eraser, it's still very yellow/brown.. is there other way to clean it? anyways.. no regrets buying white. I like it so much.. also considering getting another pdair.. maybe the rubberized one..? This post has been edited by Babyripp: Oct 6 2009, 04:41 PM |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Ah nice one, hopefully it won't turn into yellowish in future. I was thinking of coating it with something that prevent UV light yellowing it. QUOTE(kytan @ Oct 6 2009, 05:12 PM) I thought ours are non branded and branded ones are like those in the UK or Australia with the respective telco's brand printed on the phone (eg. vodaphone, telstra, etc...) I can't seem to update v12.2.026. Only get the current v12.2.024. Hehe, doesn't matter anymore.. Never bought zitron/branded sets before in my life though. Feel like it's pointless to get them as I feel current AP phone warranty seem as good as branded sets could offered. Also, does anyone know the difference between firmware v12.2.024 and v12.2.026? Hi Slow poke, we get the N97 not only because of the camera function but others as well. If your preference is camera and scared that it will scratch the lense, then N86 should be nice for you. |
