I've just sent my Nokia N97 back to the shop for a firmware flash because I was having a few battery issues with my phone. The battery sort of shorted itself out from 4 bars to 1 bar the other day and it turned off my phone. The battery life is pretty bad nowadays and I have to charge it everyday or risk it running out of battery on the next day. Also, my contacts which I mark as "favourite" no longer appear as names in my SMS'es when I receive. I see their number, +60123456789 instead.

He claims that this is because I installed Garmin unofficially through the instructions provided here on LYN.(I went one step further and installed the 5.00.50 version) Is this possible?

First go to Apps > Location > Positioning > Positioning Method
Then, un-tick the "Assisted GPS"
But for me myself, I prefer to use A-GPS because it helps me to lock effing fast when i'm at a new location..
I really love the transition effect that i've watched on Youtube. Sadly , I don't wanna void my warranty by hacking my phone. Zitron warranty liao , if AP set , sure i dont mind one.. LOL
Hope nokia would come cross to add those transition effect in the new firmware.. It's really cool !

when i check for updates, no update there.
but when i click on SW update in the phone, i can see there's phone software update. i check the detail and it showing ver 12 something.
clicked start update, nothing happen.

its the bug i guess.. because of the picture taken were quite big , it takes time to load.. i recommend you to use nokia photo browser that you can download from ovi. More faster and the effect are much cooler.. i love the kinetic scrolling effect to browse all thumbnail in my album..

i just wondering.. about the processor.. is it possible to change our n97 processor? just like pc can change processor? heh heh..

Guys, just got my phone.

The widgets in the main screen like the star, facebook and accuweather eats too much of my 3G Bandwith and i am not willing to pay so much for them when they are constatly updating.

in the internet section i already set Wifi as priority 1 and 3g as priority 2 but why everything it still uses my 3g even my home wifi is already set up and connected?

also why when browsing it wont prompt to ask me wanna use 3g or wifi and the hotmail that i set up, also i want it to only auto update and retrieve mail when i am in wifi zone. anyone can help me? thanks a ton!!
