it's ok to sacrifice some clock in order to maximize d bandwidth mate, give & take we must.  nod.gif

nice freq on d ram there, vdimm needed is?  unsure.gif

i use p95 & my habit is run custom, leave everything untouched (min @ 8k, max @ 4096) except amount of ram & time. amount of ram @ 1024MB (i'm on 4GB), time  @ 1min (fastest way to complete 1 full cycle > near to 3 hours compared to 15Min which require almost 8 hours to complete 1 cycle). in case u dunno, p95 stresses systems more than orthos does. wink.gif
*
haha, i can definitely understand that. unfortunately, that OC was unstable in the memory test, i was getting errors in sp2004 and then i decided to clock it with memtest, also no luck regardless of the voltage. i didnt dare go beyond 2.25, and it was still erroring so now i'm pushing it back to the 3:4 (533) divider and pushing my fsb as far as it can go. i'll try it with p95 later wink.gif sp2004 running stable for 12+ hours as i'm writing now.

current settings would be:
fsb: 285mhz
cpu: 2567mhz @ 1.26V
ram: 760mhz (4-4-4-12) @ 1.8V

will try tightening my timings again later wink.gif i just realized that while its a lot of work, this is more fun than i imagined tongue.gif my old athlon was an unlocked chip, so there wasnt much to do, but when you're working with so many constraints its very satisfying to get the most out of your equipment! tongue.gif

yup, that's d spirit, if u get things done in a harder way, u tends to appreciate it more. i'm not khx hater but imo khx ddr2 aint perform up to d level of performance ram. how bout 26xhtt w/ ddr800 divider on ram? u can shave off some volt for d chip + fully utilize ya ram? just a suggest thou, coz i prefer a more balanced setup for 24/7. smile.gif

i have to agree, for some reason the newer khx's dont live up to the name. right now i'm just benching this cpu cause its going to my sis to do her rendering work, while i move on to a "dual core". moderno, i'll be visiting you soon brows.gif

as for the cas timings i was so pissed off at the damned rams for not working at 667 divider, and then some more the silly mobo go put such stupid timings like 5-6-6-18 on sub-800 timings. i was like nabei, take that! and then ran it through memtest wink.gif now i'm satisfied a bit.

i think the only good thing about hte khx now is that its cheaper than other rams. for example, i was looking at some mushkin ram for ddr800 at 4-4-4-12, its around rm190. the khx kit was 145, and since my cooler is a S-N config rather than E-W, i can fill all 4 slots since the heat spreader is low profile tongue.gif

from what i read last time, 785g is nothing but an overclocked 790gx. hmm... but w/ d cf capability coupled w/ sb710 which can do core unlockin tricks, sure it has some sellin points if d price comes cheap... smile.gif

thinkin of goin back to "B" w/ ddr3 now... tongue.gif

Hmmm 785g has a bit better config i think than a 780g with its native support of 6ch LPM..
Beside on AMD side we still need an update interm of a better spec M-ATX mobo.. M-ATX mobo are kinda scare nowdays hmm.gif

Goin for DDR3 on a "B" bro?? Why not? Go for it bro brows.gif brows.gif

cloudwan...how hot ur tracer running last time?
i have 2 80mm fan blowing at the top and bottom of ramslots..still i can feel the heat when run all four sticks..

when run 2..not as hot as this .. i touched the outermost ram..so no "air flow there not good la" for me...
(and i priming with another 2x1gb ram have no activity at all... 32bit os tho biggrin.gif)

my casing airflow not so good. 1-2c (nb and cpu temp) increase when close the side panel.. huuu..even added a fan at the 5.25" bay

Perghhhhh, u run 4 stick but when i was using it i only use 2 sticks doh.gif
Of course the temp goes high coz the heat is hard to dissipate due to the tight fitting between 4 rams laugh.gif
RAM temp never was an issue to me b4..
