yup, i think the sdk is already available..check the link i posted earlier..there's also discussion board there..

hmm...cant find any links there, but since it was based on html, javascript...should be easy to do one simple widget. BTW, it only meant for a widget only right? so, more complex applications were not possible?

not just that, the widget will have be validated by Samsung. dont know how this gonna be like.

it's similar to iPhone apps; whereby it has to be aprpoved first.

so, what we can expect from this? more mini apps a.k.a widget? biggrin.gif

thought this is a nice move from samsung, but i expect them to do the same as apple instead. widgets are nice, but full applications are better.

yup, agree...and of course i think in the future samsung will allow devs to make full application for the propietary OS..

they need to make it step by step..

actually, samsung's sdk is for their own TouchWiz. This means software developed for TouchWiz will work regardless of OS (WinMo, Symbian, proprietary OS).

with this SDK, one developed app will work across the platforms wink.gif

QUOTE
Samsung’s got a widget interface called TouchWiz, which they’ve been rolling out across their touchscreen phones since around June of last year.

You’ve got a drawer containing some widgets, and four flickable pages to toss these widgets onto.

TouchWiz looks and behaves more or less identically on all of these platforms, providing some degree of uniform user experience across vastly different interfaces.

TouchWiz widgets are built with standard web technologies; it’s all HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

So far, they’ve got TouchWiz up and running on Windows Mobile, Symbian, and Samsung’s own proprietary OS.

This means that porting widgets from TouchWiz on WinMo to TouchWiz on Symbian is a matter of testing and tweaking the CSS as necessary. No major rewrites from one language to another would be required.

Samsung’s Innovator portal will provide developers with an Eclipse-based development environment for widget creation. Additionally, Samsung is providing developers with a free virtual device laboratory, allowing them to remotely test widgets on virtual handsets. That way, you don’t need to own 20 different Samsung handsets to launch your widget on 20 different Samsung handsets.

If you get stuck along the way or feel like sharing some tips & tricks with other devs, they’ve also provided a discussion board.

For iPhone's QWERTY's keyboard, you can drag your finger on a letter. But with Jet you can't do so. But then, its easier to type the conventional way in Jet.

As for the keypad, Jet is easier to use. You just need to get used to the flat surface of the screen cause you can't differentiate the keys just by touching. But its easy to press.

My 2 cents.

My bad. My sentence was bad.

For Jet, you must tap on the key itself. For iPhone, you just tap anywhere on the keyboard and you drag your finger to the character you want to type in.

I don't know how to explain it anymore XD

haha, welcome..

hm..the best phone..

actually there r no perfect dumbphone/smartphones..it really depends on ur need..

on my list there r only iphone, samsung and nokia phone..

my points briefly:

Samsung Phone (esp JET):
- surely the best hardware phone and for me the best design phone
- their software are not the best, but it satisfy me. I'm satisfy on its user friendliness, media function, stylish look
- functionality, very satisfying me as new user of Samsung phone

Iphone :
- for me the advantages is only on their mass application available
- if ur looking for a good hardware phone, certainly dont choose apple products; iphone. You already heard many news about exploding ipod, overheating, discoloration iphone right?? hehe..
- i can say the best software phone is Iphone but only on the application aspect, not on the general phone function. Iphone general phone function is really2 sucks, its sound, camera, call etc.

Nokia :
- for me the best on its user-friendliness
- lagginess, nokia is the 1st tongue.gif tongue.gif
- hardware : i dont really know about nokia hardware
- software-wise : symbian is a well developed OS

On top of all these, i've bought samsung jet becos of its stylish look, hardware-wise, functionality and good media function.

hope helps..thanks!!
