no update on the GPS..for malaysia..

for other region Route66 is a very good navigation software..only Malaysia, some important function didn't have yet...

no, for malaysia there's no other available software for GPS..

JET tips : u can change the message font size by simply press volume up / volume down

kinda weird, y malaysia does not have GPS.... what a waste. Use google map = expensive as we will need to online to use it

yup, the GPS is weird.. I would buy it if the GPS navigation is available here.. I played around with at a local hp shop, its really nice.. Hope samsung can do something about this. Fingers crossed smile.gif

hello wanna ask sumthing about this phone
we change the firmware purpose is juz for the gps rite ?
if didnt use GPS juz let it to the ori firmware its ok ? or got diff betweem the ori and europe ?


where can i find FMG sller in lowyat wif good price ?
brightstar is more cheaper to FMG ?


now they have a deveploment site for the WIZ .....so future release i can update my JET and have beeter function rite ?
so after release of the asian firmware will have GPS ?

memang lama pun.

i rasa f/w asian hanya bertumpu kat kepada service centre ataupun telco.

Jet yg i beli tu pun di brand kan oleh Maxis (dlm f/w pulak tu!)

samsung support for asian is very slow...till now there's no firmware for S8003 yet..a bit dissappointed..

right now the latest is XEIG2, but there's no really big improvement from XEIG1..

Its a europe firmware..

if u read some thread in darkforestgroup forum that cybpsych said before..
u can see that flashing Samsung JET is a very2 easy, the simplest i think when compare to other samsung phone..

i pun ingat cam tu.

sebelum i flash ke XEIG2, I hard-reset Jet tu. Pas tu, item2 Maxis keluar balik plak! wallpaper dan welcome msg. so, ni semua dah hard-coded kat dlm firmware (i punya f/w asal ialah S8003DXIF8).

masa i beli phone tu, dealer tu kate semua Jet kat Malaysia di-brandkan oleh Maxis! celaka betul. mad.gif

The nomenclature of Samsung Jet's firmware codes:-

S800?rrymv


S8000 = Model name (non-Asian countries)
S8003 = Model name (Asian countries)

rr = Region Codes (see list below)

y = Year | I = 2009 , J = 2010 , K = 2011 / etc.

m = Month | F = June , A = January , B = February .... G = July.. etc.

v = Version

it's virtually the same, just slightly difference in firmware (e.g. qwerty layout, language options)

what i misses most in Asian firmware is the Bahasa T9 smile.gif cuz i text in BM a lot to friends. now, with Eurpoean firmware, i have to use the landscape qwerty screen to text faster. Texting in Portrait without T9 is pointless. biggrin.gif

nope, becuase it doesnt decode asian text at all.

all u see are square boxes on webpages, etc. However, i have no idea on reading Chinese SMS smile.gif
