posting for a friend,

he just bought SF4 for PC on my recommendation, but whenever he try to download profile ingame(GFWL ID already created, can sign in to the GFWL client itself), always timed out and says its cannot sign in or there is error with his networking equipment.

I checked his router and its upnp enabled and I forwarded necessary ports for him, but still can't sign in with SF4. So now he is just stuck playing offline and can't enjoy online gaming.

How ah? Anybody know a solution?

I feel bad cause I recommend him to buy the game.

I don't know about internet trouble, but is he using wireless for his router or what?

My connection improved dramatically when I bought a LAN cable and connected straight to the router. If he was on wireless before, maybe you can try direct connection?

install the game on a clean system, mean a system that just format and install window and all necessary driver.

sometime those funny application like antivirus messenger or bt application cause all this trouble.
it never happen to me but my steam.

He's on wired connection thats for sure. Checked tech support forums and follow all the instructions there, and still the same thing.

Well was praying don't have to reinstall windows again, but if no choice, i guess he have to do that.

So much trouble just to play SF4............

uh...might it be the firewall? try disable firewall and try.
sometimes some pc is using tight security firewall settings ( control changed by anti-virus )

try give us the network status and someone might help u find the source of the problem and even solve it.

yes i did, sometime just cant login, said network error.
but the thing is, i just need to quit, and run the game again immediately, so far 100% works for me.

try to reinstall in clean boot state so other third party apps wont hinder the game app. especially security applications.

there are some player,who already can won the round(just a few hit and he can walk away the BP), but he stopped attack and keep walk backward and start taunt, sportmanship ?i'd admit that i will quit when i play with player like this,and i'm not sorry

well, if the player taunt u while you have less health point, maybe it means you should be the one going offense because its safer for him.

are you turtling most of the time? its a known fact that in ranking matches, everyone is going for the win.

Imagine Zangief with less hit point than sakura, and znaigef turtling on the corner waiting for sakura to jump in and eat LAriat? no way..i will Taunt the gief definitely to ask gief to go offense.

going back and taunting you isn't no sportmanship. if its casual people don't mind losing, but if its rank match for BP, playing the wisest option is a must.
but anyway quitting in a middle of the game will not affect anything.. just less and less players will play with you in the future..

its the same with Dota ( if you play dota ) .. you can't leave the game when your opponents drags the game, its just a smarter choice for them to come fully equipped into your base.

manage to done it with keyboard but not hrap + sanwa button....
