^ Stay away from Seth.

When getting up from being knocked down, spam LP a few times. Then guard, because Seth will probably do his kick special move.

Don't jump a lot, Seth will knock you out of the air most of the time.

Okay, camping in the corner + vertical jumps.

This is a more general one cause I'm not used to fighting Honda and I dunno what his vertical jump HP is. Nobody seems to play him a lot.

You can FA in front of him, and wait for the audio cue. If you hear the FA hit sound, release and dash in. If you don't hear, backdash, then poke or jump in (you don't have to worry about AA cause he just jumped, not long enough charge).

As Sakura, I think you can cover the distance by random dp + KK, then press P at a random time to see if the guy reacted by jumping or if you want to change your landing angle and timing slightly.

When I say FA in front of him, you're looking to absorb his air attack and hit him as he lands. So you get hit by the air attack and hit him as he lands, he doesn't have enough time to do any other attack. Maybe EX Headbutt can, but that's it.

Besides, when you FA someone, it only absorbs one hit, so he doesn't have to do headbutt, he can just do anything to knock you out of it. tongue.gif

I haven't tested these, but here're some general Balrog things you can do against defensive jumpers:

- Jump forward HP at max range (beats out most air attacks)
- EX Upper, it absorbs one hit and can knock him out of the air
- Headbutt or EX Headbutt
- EX Overhead attack, absorbs one hit and can force the guy to land and block wrong
- Super or Ultra

Honda's headbutt can break FA.

When I say FA in front of him, I was referring to the original problem, where Alvin said that vertical jump HP kept beating whatever he did. FA should be able to beat that. All the solutions I posted were based on that one move.

Man, yesterday I got raped on Championship mode cause lag kept killing me against Gief.

Jump in HP beats Lariat clean at max range, but lag made it jump into lariat.

Similar situations, such as jab jab get SPD.

All from lag.

You can block it, you just have to correctly block which way it is.

And you can FA it actually and just avoid the guessing game altogether. Just absorb the hit, then see if he landed in front of you or behind you. If in front, release the hit, if behind, dash away.

Once he starts mixing it up with the similar looking throw is when problems start to set in.

Like I said, FA. Listen to me. I didn't say do Shoryuken, down LP/MP/HP because they do not apply against that.

FA will block the jumping body splash and the slide attack. It will NOT block against the throw.

For the throw, you're going to have to risk jumping. I suggest jumping backwards + sticking out early attack.

Depending on the character, your Super/Ultra has the chance of beating all of the options too.

EDIT: Of course, the easiest way to not have this problem is to not get knocked down in the first place. tongue.gif

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean that getting hit breaks your back charge so that when you try to reversal it doesn't come out?

If so, then I think you're just releasing your attack too early. Nothing breaks the back charge besides not holding back. You can charge it during Ultra animations even.
