@doomx:

1. assuming you're getting your phone through Maxis, 16GB iPhone 3GS, RM1990.

you'll be able to pay the RM1990 in monthly instalments with 0% interest. (not too sure regarding the maximum tenure, eg. 6, 12 or 24 months )

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. iValue 1, monthly commitment = RM100

you must pay RM400 in advance for your iValue monthly subscription, when you collect your phone. the amount will be credited back into your account equally in 5 months (or RM80 per month).

for example,

August: iValue subscription RM100 - RM80 (advance payment credited back) = RM20 (what you're be required to pay for the month)
September: iValue subscription RM100 - RM80 (advance payment credited back) = RM20 (what you're be required to pay for the month)
......................and so on.

this RM80 will be credited back to you per month for the next 3 months (Oct, Nov & Dec). only after then, you'll be required to pay RM100 per month for iValue 1.

hope you get what i mean. smile.gif

@rapster88:
i'm not sure about other banks but i'm pretty sure Maybank's debit card is not allowed for installments purposes. for installment plans, it's advisable to use a credit card.

@oerdri5:

if you still haven't receive it until now, call up Maxis CS. normally, the confirmation SMS should be receive within the first few hours (that's in my case).

@NutterButters:

from the first page:

QUOTE
Prepaid users
1. You would still want to enjoy 500mb of data bundle every month for a year (without being contracted), get the iPhone under Hotlink plans.
> Get the Hotlink Youth Club simpack at RM8.80 if you're under 25 and you'll get 4 years validity (with minimum top up of RM10 per year) or
> Get a normal Hotlink simpack, subscribe to Hotlink 365 (maintain prepaid line validity for a year) for:
Subscription is RM33 (one time) + RM30 (min top-up within 1st 6 months) = RM63
**Both will ensure your prepaid line will be valid 24/7 to receive the 500mb data bundle!

minimum top up of RM10 per year is only valid for Hotlink Youth Club subscribers.

For normal Hotlink users, subscribe to Hotlink 365 and pay RM63 to maintain validity (ie. active) of the line.

@pjastro:

that not supposed to happen. no where in the T&C states that. heck, it doesn't even make sense at all.

first of all, the Hotlink plan stated that anyone who got their iPhone via the plan is entitled to get the 500MB data for free. since Maxis is the sole distributor of iPhone locally, and Machines is an official agent/distributor of Maxis for iPhones, thus, as long as you'd obtain your iPhone from Maxis and is a Hotlink subscriber, you should get the 500MB data bundle.

i think it might just be some misinformation. do clarify with Maxis again. (and i mean Maxis centres, rather than the Maxis CS Hotline) smile.gif

@pjastro:

what i suggest is you make a call to Maxis or visit the Maxis centre again and seek more clarification/information on that. all Hotlink subscribers who got their units off Maxis centres, MEP and Machines are paying the same amount but yet why would Machines' ones are not getting the 500MB?

even so, Maxis should state this in their T&C or somewhere to inform potential buyers.

@DE.si.MON:
information are available on the first page. installments are only valid for iValue plan subscribers. free SMS/MMS for iValue subscribers (amount differ according to iValue plans). free calls/SMS/MMS to supp lines under Family Plans are subjected to the amount stated for those plans.

@tony9973:
did the salesperson explain why must you get a new sim/number? AFAIK, you can keep your old number for that purpose.

@idoblu:
check your data usage under General -> Settings -> Usage.

@maxcheam:
even the RM99 unlimited data plan is capped at 3GB/month.

try to give Machines a call. all the branches should be having the installment plan. do note that Machines will have additional surcharge according to your installment period.

read the first page, post #3 for more info.

Hey guys, I'm a little confused about the new iValue plans.

Is the Free 100 SMS and 10 MMS between main and sup lines or to other networks as well? If not, can I change my booking plan from iValue to iData + Value Plus or something else?
*
QUOTE(DE.si.MON @ Aug 2 2009, 09:38 PM)
same here. no one seems to know about this. the terms and condition also not updated. faq also not updated.

confusing maxis. as usual.
*
still awaiting news from tinkerbel's Maxis CS side. anyway here's my guess,

the Free 100 SMS and MMS is for your line to other Maxis numbers only.

while regarding free calls/SMS between your iValue line and supplementary lines (s) under Family Plan, it will be:

# Voice and video calls are FREE up to 15 hours.
# SMS is FREE up to 1500 SMS.

(since Maxis did not state any info on that, my bet is it will be according to what current Value Plan users enjoy with their Family Plan supplementary lines)

@ChillyPepper:
you can switch to different plans when you collect your unit.

@Cainz:
do post an update here once Maxis has authorized the 500mb data bundle. would serve as guide for those who got theirs from Machines but unable to obtain the data bundle stated in the plan.

@Snappit, cengkadad:
i believe it was due to the limited stocks Maxis has currently and priority is given to those who had pre-booked earlier.

@jfarm86, DE.si.MON:
just called Maxis CS twice and confirmed this:

- 0% installment plan: Maxis will not imposed any charges on the amount but selected banks might. therefore, it's up to your CC's bank.

- iValue subscribers with Family plans supplementary lines will still be able to enjoy free 15 hours of calls and 1500 SMS with their supplementary lines.

@tink:

thanks for the details! so i guess the RM500 rebate isn't that 'attractive' eh? biggrin.gif why only iValue 3 & 4 subscribers anyway??

@1337n00b:
err, what the Maxis CS told you might be true as your SIM has to be at least with 128K or something. simple, how old is your SIM as 3G SIM only appears like few years back.

@ChillyPepper:
the free SMS/MMS (differ according to iValue plans) are only valid for SMS/MMS sent to Maxis numbers only. smile.gif

@pokemonmaster:
i believe that rebate is not valid anymore as it's a promo before 3GS was launched.

@1337n00b:
hmm, then it shouldn't be a problem. do check it with the Maxis personnel again. insist that it's a new SIM.

1 quick question
how 2 know if the iData plan we've subscribed has been activated?
i called customer care and they said its' areadly activated
but login at maxis webbie to check my account... it's not stated anywhere? lol

thx
*
i believe that would only appear in your bill statement next month. even when i called 123 to check the billing info/amount of a relatives' recently subscribed iData plan, the system is yet to be updated ie. current bill/unbilled amount info etc. is not available. i think Maxis meant it when they inform us that it has already being activated, as in my case, data usage over 30MB has been clocked and the line is still active ie. not being barred.

Maxis customers who bought the iPhone 3G and subscribe to the iValue and iData can also upgrade to the latest iPhone 3GS and enjoy at least a RM500 rebate.
End Quote

Can anyone clarify me on this? Thanks!

Anyone here bought the prepaid kit  iPhone 3GS from Maxis, and used their DiGi sim card on the phone?  Your feedback would be greatly appreciated smile.gif
*
couple of forummers here did. since iPhone from Maxis is officially unlocked, you can purchase it from Maxis but decide to use it on other networks.

hi anyway we cna check our data usage from Maxis? i am a bit worried that i will exceed the quota..
*
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Cellular Network Data

both sent & received amount combined should not exceed your given quota for the month, eg. 500MB
