hey, just wondering, my monthly usage is around RM50 on digi postpaid, so i was wondering if i subscribe to iValue 1, will the free calls and sms be enough for me, or will i most likely exceed it and have to pay extra?

sorry if this question has asked before, please delete if it's been asked.

@Secret Choong,
Do a comparison with your current DiGi call rates and Maxis call rates (for the particular plan U intend to sign on) and U'll know roughly whether it'll be sufficient.

@idoblu,
Ah well.. U haf a year more before ur plan expires right?! Perhaps Maxis might come up with something then, or reduce the cost *shrugs* Maybe they'll extend iData 2 plan and charge RM50 instead? *shrugs*

Maxis really sucks actually...before the giving prepaid iphone then now they are not. Then they are claiming that apple is the one who said that vmad.gif crazy actually...

And for foreigners,

they actually want them to deposit 1000 rm and in addition, why would foreigners sign up for a plan when they only used it to call abroad? if they have free calls abroad for sure they will go with the plan...also most of them are prepaid users already for 3-4years with monthly 100 rm load to call there love ones then maxis still wants them to get the plan....really sucks...i dont know why apple get them as there carrier.

@znoop26,
There's nothing to complain about as it is Maxis's prerogative how they want to sell/market the iPhone here. Apple doesn't look into such nitty gritty details; am sure it's the overall contract they look at! tongue.gif

maxis cannot even cope to supply the post paid ones, let alone prepaid. postpaid yields more profit and maxis is not a charitable organisation.

that is not new and apple got them as a carrier, because maxis agreed to apple's T & C

well currently maxis has stopped the prepaid iphone due....the contract iphone is out of stock and the contract one is the most priority given...not only maxis is out of stock..even singapore too...one my friend havent got his phone yet....since late july...singtel is also out of stock...

for foreigner they collect rm1000 is because the might over use the line and elope to their country back without settling out the bills...its like precaution for the carrier....

My point is they should not tell that this is from Apple...it is from them as they want to profit more...i guess foreigners just need to change to DIGI...and I would really tell my foreign friends to change and get DIGI which is way better than Maxis prepaid.

haha.. maxis become blood seeker.. finding more people to earn profit since iphone so famous and so many people want it.. everyday ask ppl to sign up plan but no enough give to ppl..

Thinking y apple just find maxis as a carrier but not other like digi or celcom.. maybe if got 2 carrier then maxis will be better.. since maxis break promise so many time.. should have a lesson.. T.T..
even before i change my line is maxis loyal customer as well..

because obtaining adequate stocks from apple to sell/waiting for customs & SIRIM to clear them, is beyond maxis' control.

but promoting them is within and at every corporation's puritanical instinct

a few golden rules with the absence of a reliable indicator.

1. reset the counter (on the iPhone) on the specified date each month.

2. check the counter religiously and once you hit 350MB, it is a good sign to "slow things" down a little.

3. treat your data bundle like a daily allowance expenditure (approximately 15MB per day)

4. avoid viewing youtube/podcasts on the network.

*************************************************************

also it has always puzzled me with regard to this; when i was on the 3G, i barely could use up 200MB/month. however with the 3G S, if i don't refrain myself, it could shoot above 250MB/month.

turns out the main culprit, was the better camera resolution on 3G S and i typically forward pictures to my friends (via e-mail) and blog remotely. the pictures taken from the 3G S were definitely bigger in file size.

hopefully by next year will have iphone 4th gen and then can buy and get another year of free data usage instead of paying for rm68 per month

my one month anniversary was yesterday, my usage is less than 250MB

nokia2003, maybe its not the 3 megapixel camera cause the mms and email, the size of the photo is scaled down to something very small. Maybe its the Notification or Push setting

no worries, there will be a new generation for sure.

hence i will never ever opt for a 24 months contract with the iPhone for obvious reasons.

and when the new model comes rushing in, the same cycle starts again; people start cursing profanities at maxis for the alleged "scam" and how maxis "swindled" them. very classic scenario.

congratulations on maintaining your data usage and practicing self control! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

IMHO 250MB is too little whilst 500MB is too much for my consumption.

it could be. it is still a mystery to me. but right now, i have to be a little careful with my usage as opposed to my 3G days.
