laugh.gif nah ....have fasted for more then a week.....lost a lot of weight and gained back a few months later.

I dont really want to do that for obvious reasons.
Without supps, my shoulders broadened out, 'ceps more defined for 5 days of heavy lifting. So, thats what got me wondering, what if I used supps (no juice please). This is the main reason I am asking here, got many experienced ppl here mah  thumbup.gif

You were fasting for religious reasons? As I understand it, fasting deprives your body of needed nutrients, do it long enough and your body will go into "starvation mode", which makes the body prioritise fat storage and decreases muscle hypertrophy.

I'm also rather sceptical about your claims regarding your 'shoulders broadening out' and your 'triceps more defined' after just 5 days of lifting. Even BBers on juice would take some time to see any appreciable gains, let alone someone not on supplements. Got any before/after pics?

maybe u can try reducing ur water intake.
this is to make ur body less water therefore it looks errr...
i dunno how to say.
i saw the youtube on ahmir khan body change in 1 year.
he said something like that...
reduce the water so that the muscle looks more dry...

Hey this idea is pretty good actually. There is one article in T-nation saying about losing those bloated guts in a week. But the process aint very healthy for the weather in malaysia, sumthing like u got to stop taking water from 8pm onwards and bla bla bla.

lot101, I award you The Most Ignorant Poster 2009 award for the BB&ST board!

Added on July 7, 2009, 4:07 pmI get the feeling you're one of those who bench press with your legs in the air (possibly while executing a bicycling motion with them) and who commit other atrocities of form which cause onlookers so much pain just to watch.

fasting for other reasons. just take it I am one of those ppl who is constantly pushing the envelope on everything. yes I do the impact of such acts. done my research before moving forward. sweat.gif moving on.........

sorry no visual evidence. I am an on and off lifter due to my work schedule. shoulders get droopy if I dun lift. biceps become one smooth contoured lump laugh.gif I am not 'big'.

i have to confess its very difficult for me to make any gains. hence the on and off lifting yes tried everything to break the plateau. so just gave up and concentrated on lifting to failure on alt days if time allows it. other days would be reserved for running, cycling etc etc on the open road.

@kotmj

why you want angrydogs cup of tea ? laugh.gif ready to man up boy ?

Supplements, as iamyuanwu said, are just bits of food concentrated and processed into powder. They're not pixie-dust in a tub. 2 weeks is too short a period of time to see any visible differences. Strength wise, you might get a little gains, but they will be miniscule. A month or two is more or less bare minimum for one to see significant gains.

I'm more of a coffee drinker.

But I think you see the commonalities in the posts here: "Shape up" communicates neither your intention nor your starting point, two weeks is too short for anything, supplements are less miraculous than advertised, and your base of knowledge about BB and ST is next to non-existant; too little, in any case, to effect what you wish.
