Battery Drain/Usage on iPhone 2G/3G/3GS/4, What to do? How? Solution?

Today i woke up, i find my iphone was charge only at 90%, which was weird because i charged it at 1am but turns out my PC shut down thats why it didnt charge full.
So i charged it until 97% then i had to go to work alredi. So any damage to the battery because i didnt charge full? Must i drain the battery to 0% and then only charge it again?

Software is the only effective method to unlock this oldie device.
