Congrats for becoming the pokemon master..hahaha!You should get a bigger box for him next time =) I think use newspaper only also can la, less messy than the wood shavings IAMS is cheaper, but RC36 is the best, since hoglet needs more protein for growth @Kenpachi - you don't have to use UV light for him, Hedgehog is not reptile. |

Aww, I still have difficulty picking up hedgehogs. I can only put my hand under their belly. My skin on my poor hands are too thin to handle a ball of needles.
Adopted hedgie (no name yet) had really dry, flaky skin yesterday. I could find lots of skin on the storage box. I placed a few drops of vegetable oil on her back before I went to sleep. I woke up today & tada! No more flaky skin. She finally started eating. She's very inactive in the storage box but when I brought her out to the living room, she explores. |

So... I don't intend to breed my hedgehogs (highly unlikely that I would do so) but my hedgehogs do live next to each other.
Yesterday, adopted hedgehog escaped from my hands and went sniffing at Huffy's cage. He started whistling. xD And leaking. |

I wonder how height is your storage box till it can escape Anyone here care to share pictures of their hedgie's cage? I used 4-wheeled storage box & after placed the dome, looked like the space is abit narrow now. now that his playpen was broken, i should get him a wheel & maybe invest on the larger storage box..like 6-wheeled.. feel regret didnt buy the 6-wheeled before. now it's getting expensive.. around rm100. |

QUOTE(Salt&Pepper @ Jun 21 2011, 03:41 PM) I wonder how height is your storage box till it can escape I use a pretty big and tall storage box as well.I used 4-wheeled storage box & after placed the dome, looked like the space is abit narrow now. now that his playpen was broken, i should get him a wheel & maybe invest on the larger storage box..like 6-wheeled.. feel regret didnt buy the 6-wheeled before. now it's getting expensive.. around rm100. I think he got out by climbing the tiny chair that I placed inside the box as his hideout. He seems too crammed in an ice-cream box. Usually he lives in the playpen but I switched the adopted hedgie with Huffy so she can run on the wheel (I have one large wheel only at the mo). Picture of a six wheeled storage box? Want to make sure we're on the same page. I'm a bit lost sometimes. This post has been edited by TeliLeti: Jun 21 2011, 03:57 PM |
