you quote as though the panny gives a worse image than even a LCD screen until like cannot enjoy it's very good PQ..  shakehead.gif  tongue.gif

Not saying that the Panny is worst. Just responding to the Bladerunner qoute.

In fact I don't likle the sammy one too as the IR is very bad.

no worries, biggrin.gif we just chatting.. thumbup.gif

BTW, the bladerunner quote on light burning twice as bright has nothing to do the panel being brighter or dimmer tongue.gif

still cannot understand why the 50S inch in Msia is nearly double the 42S inch. Now that the 42 inch is below RM2999, by right, the 50 inch should be RM3999 if one follows other countries pricing gap between the 42 and 50 models.

IIRC in US it's USD1.5k and in UK it's GBP1.1k.
Personally I am more than happy compared the prices we have last year. sweat.gif

KRP-500 kuro only rm6k in US.. so S10 50incher "should ideally be" 4+ range as you suggested.. biggrin.gif

Looks like the 50S10 is not getting the buzz like the 50X10.  Is it because the 50S10 is not that good?  Even the new Samsung plasma seems to out perform the pana plasma.

Did Pana cut too much corner on the newer plasma?  Most reviewer say the picture on the new full hd plasma from pana looks soft and less details as compare to the some other better tv.  Colors is off too and screen reflection is very bad.  Some claims the screen looks dull and dim as compare to lcd.

What do you guys think?
*
To me, 50X10 is more enjoyable to watch... brighter and better contrast. 50S10 looks soft, dim and has strange color... It might be just me, but I'd rather take 50X10. Maybe 50S10 V2 would be a better model.

wah, amazing how cheap the KRP is in the US. And average US person earns so much that he can buy it with just 2 weeks pay.

50 inch in Malaysia need to go down further but I suspect that the manufacturers pakat to keep it above RM5000. And this would probably go on for few more years.

The more people request for these kinds of things, the more options they seem to remove from the displays to keep the price low. Eg, CATS option from Malaysia models of Panasonic.

Edit: I suppose the Panny owners can do something abt it. Maybe complaining to the Panny customer support on how we seem to get different specs for the same price in the US. But then again, the CS would just say too bad to u. Thats CS in Malaysia...

that if you can get through to their hotline. The last time I called, they took so long to answer and when they did, and wanted to trasfer me, it got cut off. Then again I tried to call and waited another 20 minutes before someone answered. Again, i got cut off whilst being transfered.

It repeated so many times until I gave up.

This is Malaysian CS. But a disgrace coming from a reputable Japanese company.

I am coming from an LCD (Sony/Samsung) so my eyes are used to the vibrant colors of the Samsung plasma.

That's why looking at the Panny S10 I just dont feel it has the punch and the depth picture wise....that is my personal preference

as for me, if the film based movie is not supposed to be so artificially vibrant, why persue such a picture condition?

There are practical things to consider.

Are you willing to alternate between browsing/movie watching/game playing every hour or so to prevent burn-in, every single day?

Do you know how far the distance you have to sit away as the desktop replacement? Do your room has that space (presumely yes)

Also, what DPI you have to change to in order for you to read the fonts? Not all programs scales with the DPI. I can tell you some installation screens' texts screws up with enlarged DPI.
