There won't be a 50" G10 according to here:

Wondering if 60inch S or G or whatever series will be sold here. I saw Pana made the biggest plasma 103 inch.. even on display in Best dengki sometime ago, but never really sold commercially here. If pana bring 60ich fullhd plasma priced below 10K, that would be interesting.
Anybody know? tq

bro..not only movies, video in general.  As you have heard some review about the x10k color, they mentioned is natural while some forum members here mentioned the new s10k borders on a bit of oversaturation of the green.  I believes it has something to do with the anti glare coatings on the glass.  Anti reflective coating is expensive stuff, and look at the vast area of glass the need to coat!

thats is the reason why some plasma is Sooooo...expensive...KURO anyone?
*
Yes, Kuro is the one, the only one "perfect" Plasma... but the price is 3 times than S series (KRP-500a last priced at RM18K).
LG PQ30 plasma has less reflection and not full HD but the picture is beautiful. My worry is, 3 display units of LG in Best denki mid valley have screen problem ... some lines breaking etc... Quality questionable.

Here is the first pro review of the TX-P50S10.

Review

Looks like the cheap price of this new plasma tv from panasonic is cheap for a reason...entry level with so so picture only. Here is the first pro review of the TX-P50S10.

Added on July 6, 2009, 11:27 pmFor those of u still undecided between the G10 or the S10 pana plasma, this review from whathifi might help you decides.

Whathifi review

One thing surprising from 2 pro reviews is that the TX-P50S10's image is not as sharp or details as one would like.  That is strange considering the fact that this is a Full HD screen.
*
I saw the TX-P42S10's picture was not as sharp as Kuro 428XG even though the Kuro is only 1024x768 rez. And the TX-P42S10's got shadow from certain angle and also chromatic errors (rainbow effect). Need good eyes to see it. Go figure. smile.gif

Kuro 428XG,  I can notice immediately it was not a 1366x768 panel let alone full-hd panel from normal shop display viewing. so how to say it's sharp resolution to begin with??
*
At 2.5 times screen width (about 8.5ft for 42 inch TV), the pixel resolution cannot be distinguished during viewing. All that matters beyond this distance is how well contrast is handled, which of course Kuro is miles ahead. But of course if you are watching from 5 feet away (some people actually do!), you can see all the dots.

I was at SenQ 2 days ago and saw a Pioneer Kuro there. I check out the screen and the refelction is just as bad as the panasonic. But why no one complaint about the Kuro?
Agree with you totally. The KRP is as reflective as the Panasonic. I have pointed this out before but still people keep on talking that it is so great and perfect.

If it is perfect, why is it so reflective?

I guess we may have to rethink about Pioneer's so called greatness. It could be some paid foreign journalist who has given a great review and we Msians just echo the same words.

I own a Pioneer and it gives the same quality as a Panasonic.

G also not selling well, how to sell Z and V?

I think in Msia, only the X and S laku.

I saw in AV fair that Hitachi Plasmas were also not bad. Pricewise, it sits around Pana and Sammy but the black level and overall picture are good, definitely blacker than panasonic S series. If you are afraid of korean products, this might be an option. My friend's Hitachi plasma lasts as long as other Japs TV sets... br/

for plasmas, its only Pana, Pioneer and Samsung, now Pioneer dead, so, its only Pana or Samsung.

for lcd, its Samsung, Sharp or Sony. Since Samsung makes Sony's panel, so, its only Samsung or Sharp.

All the others, no point talking. Might as well buy Akira.
*
Many times you speak like there's no tomorrow and later after you check out yourselves and blown away, you regret. Talk before you speak. I told you before Pana S42 was GREY and highly reflective, you SWORE it was as good as Kuro, then you checked Samsung was better, you hit Pana bad... Now I'm teling you Hitachi have pretty impressive set, you straight away hentam... C'mon lar, forumers can see your attitude already. Make wise and just comments only.

i have an old 42 inch Hitachi, it was and is one of the worst plasmas ever.
*
Wah, how many plasma sets you have? Before you said you had Pioneer at home, now you also have the crappy Hitachi. I bet, you might have some "stupid" LCD TVs also. I'm impressed! wink.gif

May I know the model? I calibrated a Hitachi Plasma lately and it had miserable black levels.
*
I wished I had the model numbers but my friend was rushing to the pioneer room.... I watched for like 3 minutes, and I think it was pretty good. Like many others, I never gave a second look at Hitachi before. But I wil do on my next TV survey roundup.

Looks like the 50S10 is not getting the buzz like the 50X10.  Is it because the 50S10 is not that good?  Even the new Samsung plasma seems to out perform the pana plasma.

Did Pana cut too much corner on the newer plasma?  Most reviewer say the picture on the new full hd plasma from pana looks soft and less details as compare to the some other better tv.  Colors is off too and screen reflection is very bad.  Some claims the screen looks dull and dim as compare to lcd.

What do you guys think?
*
To me, 50X10 is more enjoyable to watch... brighter and better contrast. 50S10 looks soft, dim and has strange color... It might be just me, but I'd rather take 50X10. Maybe 50S10 V2 would be a better model.

My recommendation to people who are looking to buy plasma tv....check out the Samsung plasma as the have better picture and colors according to members new.  I didn't know Pana actually screw up the new plasma so bad.  Don't get me wrong, they still look great, but there are better one.

I think your review might have saved a lot of people... thanks..

after reading about de problem lightning69 is having..i begin looking at an old thread..ironically started by lightning69 himself..50S10 vs 50B650..those who provided inputs to tat thread did suggest tat B650 out performs the S10..with IR as its major setback..

Lightning69 himself now suggested tat perhaps he shud've gone de korean way smile.gif so the conclusion?S10 vs B650 still hard to answer..build quality & reliability is also a big question mark with the B650..many ppl not 'trusting' de korean brand thos they hv come a long way..

normally to prevent burning & IR we burn i the tv right? With image burn in disc..i read tat with the B650 it wont settle even after 600hours of burning in..is tat true?if so what's de alternative? I watch lots of astro & most channels got permanent logo on corners..if i watch like full day surely will be a problem right..

just out of curiousity..what tv is anfieldude using?unless its Kuro 9G then mayb we can buy the exact same model he's got..then surely no problem wink.gif

Get a kuro 8g and you won't regret... ever... 9g is too much for average enthusiasts.
