better to go for WD or Buffalo. It is better quality. But WD 1TB is around RM360

Yeah, all my external HDD are WD My Book Home series cause I need e-Sata. I never trust in Maxtor.

Very true, WD quality is the best. Nobody beats it. But nowadays, people seem to be going for Buffalo Mini series as it is fully Made in Japan.

Is it higher quality since it is Made in Japan?

No.. coz that one use for NAS only.. I used ubuntu server for samba sharing + downloader. Now in the process to setup XBMC so I can play the video directly using the server since the server is always on (usually).
