aik? really? bt the one that hav been shown at astro was not the unrated one. i want to watch it in full without cut here n there (UNRATED). hee.im from sabah, all the video stores don't sell that title anymore even at speedy. i look almost like the whole video stores at Kota Kinabalu bt cant seem to find it sad.gif  is the TCM:the beginning u saw at video store is UNRATED?

o yaa..i saw the trailer at utube n damn, it doesn't look like scary to me yawn.gif  bt still i want to watch it. hee. I think all those 80's horror icon being remake again like halloween, TCM, friday the 13th n yeah..the latest one Nightmare at elm street.
*
Of course astro would have heavy censoring lol i forgot where i watched it before, but i do remember once i watched it online and it's unrated.. anything sold at speedy/video store will be censored unless it's ya know... ahem stores lol those would for sure be unrated. Or how about ordering online? Might be a bit expensive..but cheapest way is downloading lol free and unrated. I stay in PJ so I see the movie at video stores here, but I'm not sure if it's unrated or heavily censored.

Yeah i'm disappointed they're ruining A Nightmare on Elm Street cry.gif I bought Children of the Corn TV remake DVD because I am a HUGE fan of the original children of the corn.. my advise is STAY AWAY FROM THE MOVIE. It's absolutely horrible! Horrible casting that makes you wanna strangle yourself, long boring draggy movie, and it's very true to the book.. the first movie, they added some scenes that wasn't in the book and I heard stephen king was not happy about it.

Horrible kids.. they're not scary at all.. the original's Isaac and Milachi were disturbingly chilling, this one.. urgh. Just bad, very very very bad. This is why I DESPISE remakes.

Oooooh I'm a huge fan of horror movies (to which, most of my friends couldn't share the thrill).

Anyway my top ten (not in order):

1. The Exorcist
2. Jeeper's Creepers
3. Ju-On
4. Shutter
5. The Eye
6. The Exorcism of Emily Rose
7. Silent Hill
8. Child's Play
9. Nightmare on Elm Street (yikes, Freddy Krueger!)
10. Dawn of the Dead (2004)

I admit, the top of the list is definitely undeniably The Exorcist. I didn't expect it to be that scary and had nightmare for 2 nights!!! I bought the ori DVD from my friend who didn't want it... only watched it once since then. Shoved the DVD in one of the drawer downstairs.

Jeeper's Creepers came in totally unexpected. It was a low budget film without much publicity. Friend and I were at the cinema and we saw the trailer... after finishing 1st movie, we went straight to the counter to purchase the tix for JC. It prove to be good.

Exorcism of Emily Rose is like... well, I watched it once in the cinema when it was out and utterly disappointed. However 2 years later when I was rummaging through our DVD collection, I noticed my mum bought it. So out of boredom I put it on our TV and rewatched it. For some reason, it gave me goosebumps and I was scared. Worst part is that I got nosy and started googling for Annilese Michel (since the movie is based on a 'true' story). I kept researching about the history and what happened to her. Then I got freaked out when I stumbled upon a site that hosts the recording (just the sound) of the exorcism ritual of Annilese Michel. Straightaway closed the webpage and went downstairs to watch TV.

I guess everyone's familiar with Child's Play. Was at my neighbour's house when I was a kid (around 10 years old) and they happen to play the video. Watched it with them and the rest is history.

Lastly, I'm a sucker for zombie movies. Why? They creep me out. Sure, they move s-l-o-w but nothing beats quantity! and heck, they jump out at the least expected scenes and then you'll be jumping out from your seat! Plus, Dawn of the Dead is really good because these zombies are super fast. Chances are, you'll hardly outrun them. You can't run and you can't hide. They will get to you in the end.

I didn't know of the show until my friend borrowed it from her housemate. Apparently he bought it (pirated DVD) in Bali together with whole bunch of other movies laugh.gif we were basically leeching off his DVDs. So when I got back, I searched for the DVD (thankfully managed to find it) and bought it!

In a separate note, 28 Weeks Later is also a good watch. I like the plot which tells us how the 'disease' spread and about the carrier(s). Land of the Dead is cool too because it centers on a different concept.

Great list, though I never really got Child's Play

They are remaking A Nightmare on Elm Street. Hope they do a good job (Michael Bay is involve)

I've noticed there are a lot of ladies on this thread!!?! (It's a good thing)

is that so? laugh.gif I only read the last few pages and noticed quite a number of guys instead of ladies. Why is it a good thing...? sweat.gif I don't favour romance or chick flicks. I watch them on TV sometimes but that's all about it. Action, horror, thriller is much better (for me!). Child's Play is pretty good in the 1st and 2nd season. 4th season is laughable.

Serious? Nightmare on Elm Street? Michael Bay? Wow sounds good! Can't wait to see what surprises he'll give us XD

Two of my all-time favourite directors are Tim Burton and Quentin Tarantino. Am hoping that some day they'll work together and come up with a super dark movie laugh.gif

robert rodriguez & quentin tarantino teamed up to make grindhouse's planet terror and death proof, if tarantino team up with tim burton, they'll make an awesome dark horror movie

That was a TV miniseries. It was pretty good and quite scary, but the ending sucked badly.

Watched it when I was a kid... and yes, I was freaked out after the movie. Interestingly last year I found out that a colleague has the VCD. Borrowed it from her and... well, after rewatching it, there's basically nothing to fear tongue.gif

I'd say in all of Stephen King's movies, Dreamcatcher is the weirdest and freakiest. I just couldn't shake the toilet scene from my head. It's really disgusting ohmy.gif

Just because REC's not in English doesn't mean it sucks. REC is the original and Quarantine remake. Quarantine's scares paled with REC although it is still frightening, the camera feels too "scripted" and REC jumps at your more in certain scenes. Plus the final monster in REC is much scarier than the lame bugger in Quarantine.

BTW Rec 2 came out already, can watch the trailer on YouTube.
