@acronyx,
If ur intending to purchase, I see no harm in paying the RM200 deposit. That will at least put you in the list of "priority customer" who's paid the RM200.

Also, instead of getting it from a dealer, U may want to prebook it directly from Maxis biggrin.gif

@idoblu,
Perhaps Machines isn't too excited because uh... it's more work and they don't make enough $ from the sale of the i3GS *shrugs* Or, perhaps the arrangement with Maxis is that they only have RMX credit hence they can't take so many units of the i3GS without coming up with cash ?!

@idoblu,
I'm not too sure of that information; Maxis may not have had run out of stocks because it was one of the last few contries to rollout the i3G.

Like I said, if U intend to purchase one, go ahead and get one now; no point waiting cause as nokia2003 said, in 11 months time, Apple's gonna be releasing their 4th Generation iPhones.

@beavis68,
I've been informed by several forummers, if U do not JB your phone, the usage indicator is quite accurate.

@jackhammer84,
It would work but there'll be no voice services, hence U should be able to use ur iPhone to surf the net but U wouldn't be able to receive phone calls.

@johnliew,
The above package is really not too suitable for the i3GS as mentioned by jackhammer84 in his post above. Anyhow, U have 12 months to decide so no need to get so antsy now.

@xxx306,
1) U haf 14 days to pick up the set
2) The owner of the line needs to pick up the set because contracts need to be signed on the spot.

@invisiblelim,
Yes the SIM will be registered under ur gfs name. I'm not sure if assuming U buy the prepaid pack upon collection, register it under ur name, can U change the booking to ur name.

@xxx306,
Yes shouldn't be a problem! biggrin.gif

@invisiblelim,
If Maxis insist on using the line U did your pre-booking with, U will haf no choice but to put the registration of that phone under ur gf's name. Ah well....... take it as an incentive to keep her ur gf for the next 12/24 months whichever contract period you're going for lah smile.gif

PS: For those who's picking up the i3GS from Machines or Mac resellers, I think U need to have the prepaid card on hand, registered, activated and ready cause Machines definitely ain't gonna provide that service for u biggrin.gif

@kokocrun,
Oh! I'm not aware of such policy but if they do sell it there then I guess it's good. Thought I'll just give heads up to forummers who's collecting from non Maxis Centres.

@kokocrun,
Yes U should be able to bring ur own prepaid cause there will be people who's using their existing Hotlink SIMS to make the purchase.

I guess Machines is just giving the additional service biggrin.gif Good for all then smile.gif

@gunnerstkd,
It's not too late to do the booking. I just did one this morning. I've also been informed, Maxis will not entertain walk-in for the first few days until they've cleared all those who pre-booked.

@antskong,
iPhones do not come with International Warranty - btw are U the Ants Kong I know?! tongue.gif

@elico,
Maxis KLCC at the booking form was indicated FULLY BOOKED so I guess yeah it should be crowded.

@gunnerstkd,
I don't suppose there's a need for pre-registration if we can walk-in. The reason I did it is because a cousin just got back from Germany and wants a set so I gotta get it for him before he leaves on the 7th August.

@cic.lemur,
Er.. in that case, how'd U know ur suppose to collect ur set on 3rd August?! If U haven't done a prebooking, I guess it's still not too late to get it done; afterwhich U can just select which date and location to do the pick up smile.gif

@BroJason,
Apologies as I did miss ur post *gulps* Anyhow, there were no changes in terms of deadline for payment and nothing was mentioned about not getting the iPhone 3GS on 31/7. I haven't gone to make the payment cause I'm still in the office.

I did speak with 123 Maxis over the weekend and they assure me that as long as U've paid the deposit, you're guaranteed a phone. I did ask them, what happens if the phones are out of stock and he was very positive that will not happen [he kept insisting the RM200 can't be refunded so I pressed and asked what happens if I dont' get the phone before I leave town for good? - I told him I leave for Germany on 7th August so by hook or by crook the phone needs to come in by then!]

@BroJason,
The risk is there cause I really don't trust these 123 Maxis people. My back up though is to make a lot of noise if I don't get the i3GS due to low stock levels so I can get the RM200 refunded back to me OR I pass my current i3GS unit to my cousin who's leaving back for Germany and keep the Maxis unit for meself tongue.gif

@Cainz,
If you're afraid, change ur collection place to a Maxis Centre - choose the KLCC one and I'm sure U won't have problems with stocks biggrin.gif

Like I said, I can't guarantee it because I'm no Maxis. I can only keep my fingers crossed.

@Cainz,
I just made a call to 123 Maxis to enquire about getting the i3GS sets as stipulated on our booking form. She checked with Management and apparently she guarantees that as long as we have a time slot (KLCC is written FULLY BOOKED) we will definitely walk away with an i3GS. The person I spoke with was one Raycem.

Hence from the information I got from 123 Maxis after having called them several times, I would say they seem quite confident in getting the i3GS to U so U shouldn't need to worry about paying the RM200 deposit. Anyhow, we have 5 days to make payment mah, right?! biggrin.gif

As to upgrade of plans, I don't know - didn't ask my Maxis Insider - but I'm seeing him again tonight, want me to ask ah? [iSeh.. i paiseh-leh ask him so many questions!] but even if got upgrade in plans U will probably need to sign on another 12-24 months, so I don't see the point also *shrugs*

@bluesky87,
Er.. meet up ah?! But but but.. I *shy*

@jackhammer84,
Thank U rclxms.gif

@HuorEarfalas,
We really don't know until the i3GS is in hand. But anyhow, that's the information I got hence I shared with U all. I've made so many calls to 123 Maxis I think if they do keep a record they be wondering why I'm calling so often tongue.gif

@cic.lemur,
If I ain't mistaken, when I went through the booking process this afternoon, KLCC collection was available for 2nd August, collection 5-9PM.

@bluesky87,
Ah well.. I always try to help as and when I can biggrin.gif

@LaiN87,
I haven't read anything about a confirmation call; though I've read U repeating this twice now tongue.gif Ah well.... like I said, 123 Maxis confirmed we will get our i3GS based on our stipulated booking date!
