There was a pre-launch to dealers on the 27th night @ Zouk. Didn't hear anything about any launching on 28th

AFAIK the official launch date remains on 31st Jul.

When U go into Machines and pay afterwards, the fella at the shop will tell U he can't guarantee U a unit - but Maxis says otherwise so am not sure who's right and who's wrong.

Machines 1U has indicated they will call when ur unit is available for pick up. I guess U could try walking in if U don't get the call.

U should be able to purchase the Hotlink SIM packs from Machines when U collect the phone should U need a SIM to activate the i3GS - or at least that's what I've been informed by Machines. Forgot to check if we need to bring an active SIM with us.

Apparently the colours are warmer; or different. No issues with yellowish tint on mine.

Yes Ur absolutely right - screen colour differs due to many reasons; also calibration of screen cannot be absolute hence U see a little different in the many units U view. Usually when U compare colour, U will notice a difference; whether it's the i3G with i3G or i3GS with i3GS or the i3G with i3GS.

If U've been following the thread, nokia2003 has been using the i3GS for over a month now -

I don't think the warmer colours or this yellowish tint you're referring to has anything to do with the oleophobic coating - in any case, that coating is transparent

If the colour is fine by u then no problem lar. U dun need to haf an iPod to compare it too. I never had an iPod either but I'm not colour blind so I can sort off tell if there's a yellow tint or not

Machines 1U did indicate that, should U decide not to want the i3GS, the RM200 can be given back in the form of 'store credit' - they won't U give U cash but use it to purchase something from their outlet.

Perhaps U should check with them and see what the final outcome is.

If U had recently purchased an i3GS via ur current Hotlink SIM, U should be entitled the free 500MB of data for the next 12 months.

If U didn't get it, contact Maxis.

If U want to get instalment for prepaid purchase, check if your credit card company can do it for U. Act it was Maxis who made the decision due to stock unavailability. Cousin goes back to Germany on the 8th so he has no choice but to take my unit first. Am seeing them again for family dinner tomorrow night so I told him I'll pass him the phone then - which means, I have from now till tomorrow to restore the phone back to its original state - perhaps I should even try my hand at jailbreaking tonight?! *wink wink*

I am however not as kan cheong as the rest to get an i3GS - perhaps it's cause I've oredi been using it so it's not like a matter of life and death kinda thing though admittedly this is going to cause a bit of inconvenience but I'll live with it
