@Kerry1136,
Phone collection period is from the date you've indicated + 14 days. U cannot go in earlier to get the i3GS.

@eekwan7,
Er.. U mean Maxis will be calling everyone up just to remind them to go pick up the i3GS? That's rather waste of resources IMHO. Also, till now I haven't received the confirmation email, just the SMS.

@sudhirian,
The information you're looking for is http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/871684

@jonest,
My Maxis Insider isn't involved in i3GS stocks but he tells me there should be sufficient units to go around; unless the i3GS respond is much more overwhelming than the i3G respond so let's hope there will be more than enough for everyone biggrin.gif

@teikwing,
The best right now is to check corresponding Model number. I've updated the i3G/i3GS purchase guide and we now have Model numbers from Australia, New Zealand & Singapore. Will put in the Malaysia Model number when/if I do get the i3GS on Friday.

@andyoba,
Coincidentally that's MY collection time too ! *smiles*
1) Yes U should be able to use the i3GS immediately. However, I think it will take a couple of hours before Maxis can activate the iValue2 plan.
2) Can't comment - don't know but that shouldn't be the case
3) No, Machines doesn't offer 0% interest instalment - please refer to updated instalment information here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1091499
4) Some forummers have reported that it's possible after having spoken with several Maxis staff,.

@beavis68,
Maxis will be activating the i3GS because they want to tie down the warranty to the owner of the line.

@breonwei,
That will be ideal but from Maxis FAQ it doesn't look like it's possible.

@andyoba,
Someone (I don't remember whom!) did say he booked his collection place for Machines but he decided to go pay at Maxis Centre instead and they did take his RM200 so I guess it is possible but if U've oredi made the RM200 payment I don't think U can change collection centres now.

@avars,
I had no idea about this 5% additional for those using CC to make payment; and I think it's ridiculous at 5% but ah well.... we'll just have to wait and see until it really happens.

@leecwai,
I believe they will be activating the card using ur SIM card.

OT: I'm off to pay the RM200 deposit during lunch time.

@eekwan7, zad78,
No No.. The confirmation email is the one that U should receive when U make the booking, together with the SMS with your reference number.

I'm sure if U have made payment and gotten a receipt for that payment, if U don't have receive the confirmation email by the time Ur suppose to go pick up ur i3GS, U'll still get ur i3GS lah biggrin.gif

@eekwan7,
If U haf the confirmation email + the receipt bring both along, together with the SMS which was sent to U. That can help expedite the entire process. I believe the receipt of the RM200 prebooking is the best B&W proof to show U have indeed booked the i3GS - cause if U haven't booked, Y would U be paying RM200 ? smile.gif

@jonest,
Yes am getting one so I can give proper information to the forummers here. What to do? I'm just too committed to U people sad.gif Yes that is about right but if U have the confirmation email, might as well bring that along too biggrin.gif

@vui_msia,
I put 31 Jul but like I said I'm only going in to pay the RM200 deposit this afternoon.

@jonest,
Er... tangan gatal sudah action mah - didn't U see I nuked several post liow? tongue.gif Since I'm going to make the RM200 deposit, I'll check again what is needed to be brought along during collection. Will report back after lunch. In the mean time, 'kuai kuai ah' don't spam tongue.gif

@Jye1986,
Yes.. buy a Hotlink prepaid SIM card @ RM8.80 and use that to purchase the i3GS. That way, Ur not bound to a contract period/term.

Hi people,

I just spoke with 123 Maxis + visited Maxis MEP to check re collection of i3GS phones. You will need to bring along:-
1) Receipt given to U when U paid the RM200 booking fees
2) Confirmation Email which was sent to ur email upon booking [if possible]
3) NRIC

This is because apparently the system is unable to track which particular iPhone U booked and they will need that piece of confirmation email to determine what you say is what you booked. For those who didn't get the confirmation email, check ur junk mail and well if you're like me and didn't get it, there's nothing much they can do I guess *shrugs*

I was also informed, it takes about 20 minutes to process 1 phone (inc activation + signing on data plan + payment) hence I'm sure the queue will be super long. Apparently, Machines 1U received the biggest number of orders; the personnel there ain't even sure why the system doesn't show it's FULLY BOOKED.

@jonest,
Don't think I wanna queue with the rest so I probably only go pick up the i3GS on Monday next week or something; I am afterall, not too excited about this collection and definitely do not want to queue for aeons; esp since I've to drag my dad with me to make the phone collection.

@Iroci,
I don't know when Maxis will start accepting walk-in orders but it's safe to say it will only take place after all those who's pre-booked received their units. The remainder of the stocks will then be open to walk-ins.

@LaiN87,
It's not true Machines don't have a quote; everyone has a quote I'm sure and Machines Sunway Pyramid is oredi FULLY BOOKED on the system and has been so for the last couple of days.

@acther,
I guess the MEPs are just trying to ensure everything is in order so the time taken to activate an i3GS isn't going to be much; I been told it will take approx 20 mins and that's rather long for 1 customer, IMHO.

@jonest,
Machines has also assured they'll be delivering the i3GS from the 31st onwards; it's whether or not they have sufficient units to meet those who's paid the RM200 which is the main problem.

But anyhow like I said, Y don't U people just wait till Friday biggrin.gif

@kentang_peranchis,
I wasn't aware it's refundable. AFAIK the RM200 is non refundable. Am surprised U got ur $ back.

@Mr Kong,
In that case, faster go get ur refund or if U can't, see if U can "sell" that booking of urs to someone who wants the i3GS.

@HuorEarfalas,
I think tony9973 meant 7000 sets! And that's quite a lot considering Singapore is v much smaller than MY.

@jin1119,
The collection date is as per what you indicated when U made the prebooking; the information should also be stated in the confirmation email U received from Maxis [at least I think it should be there; I'm unable to check as I haven't received the confirmation email]

@LaiN87,
Ah well... Machines Sunway Pyramid was FULLY BOOKED when I clicked on it; maybe they changed the system *shrugs* I think the booking can still be transferable cause the plans are only activated when U collect the i3GS. Of course, if Maxis wants to make more $ then they would make non transferable and non returnable sad.gif

@jin1119 & Coconut,
In that case U just haf to wait for the call or give the shop a call to check when U can go make ur collection. AFAIK Machines have indicated that they will contact each and every customer who prebooked with them when their i3GS stocks are available - which means, if U don't receive the call U haven't secured a unit.

@Jcvendetta,
I haven't had problems with my i3G and i3GS cracking - then again, I don't use it as a hammer to hammer stuff tongue.gif

@hokkianu,
Just as a reminder, the Unlimited package is capped at 3GB so don't overuse it.

@jfoong,
It's alright cause ur one of the sane ones, the rest are just insane tongue.gif

Hi people...

davidgary73 & I will definitely appreciate if we stop speculating when the i3GS will arrive the shops. It's Wednesday today and there's still time for the stocks to arrive the shop - Y get too antsy about it. Just go pick it up on Friday if that's your collection date and if U dn't get it, U can start screaming at Maxis (not here!)

In the meantime, all posts re delivery of i3GS will be nuked.
