@invisiblelim,
I don't think we should be speculating about all these now; no one can answer that question u've posed. Just haf to wait and if there's a queue bear with it.

@xandman,
I don't know about urs but mine does feel a little extra HOT when my apps are opened for a prolonged period. In fact, I scared myself the other day when I woke up from my afternoon nap to find my i3GS heated up !

@xandman,

@jonest,
I believe a fellow forummer reported to say Maxis has extended the deadline to 30th Jul, 2009 biggrin.gif

@shdwkillr,
Activation of the iPhone 3GS is immediate but it will need to be activated via the Hotlink SIM pack before U can start using it with any other SIMs.

@nitsujyuen,
U can activate it at the same time; which means for those who's buying via the Prepaid option, U can make do the phone + Hotlink SIM activation at the same time.

@yongkailoon,
It means U won't be given priority; u become walk-in customer and well purchase from whatever's available.

@shdwkillr,
Maxis will be activating the phones for U; this is to ensure they can 'control' warranty issues biggrin.gif but it will be good if U have an iTunes account because U would be using that to sync your stuff + download applications from App Store.

@viosowner,
I don't think there's a quota - more like there's a limit cause if Maxis can only handle 30 pax per hour, they can only do so 240 pax over an 8hr work day.

@david101,
ALL iPhones purchased via Maxis will need to be activated via a Maxis SIM. It will also be activated by Maxis personnel as they will need to key in your data for warranty issues.

@xxx306,
If U don't want to port your existing number over to Maxis, U will need to purchase a Hotlink SIM pack when U get your iPhone 3GS and activate it via the new SIM pack before using it with your current number. U will however lose the benefit of the 500MB data p/month Maxis is giving out.

@mrjgx,
Sets without Maxis registration? Er... officially it's not possible but with LYP around and other sellers U may be able to. Perhaps U could look up zc_squash. He/She got a unit available for sale - if U get that unit, U won't need to bother about these Maxis plans biggrin.gif

@zc_squash,
I'm not suppose to advertise for U but ah well... 2nd day into my Moderator status and I'm breaking rules sweat.gif

@shdwkillr,
From Maxis T&C, it seems as if the the Maxis personnel must do the activation; how else are they going to get the customers' data for warranty purposes but I can't be 100% sure until someone has gone through the process but most likely activation will be done by Maxis personnel.

FedEx to U ah?! Er.... safe or not? Y don't U just come back and get it or well..... I could always safekeep it for U first biggrin.gif

@killer_pussylover,
Hmm.. since you're collecting the i3GS from Machines, it's best if U check if U need to bring along a Hotlink prepaid pack with u [Maxis Centres will definitely have the Hotlink SIM packs available for sell but Machines probably won't].

Based on what U want, U won't be able to activate the i3GS using your wife's SIM card. The 500MB data will be credited to the Hotlink SIM which was used to activate the i3GS meaning if U register and activate the i3GS using Prepaid SIM X, the 500MB will go to Prepaid SIM X and not any other SIMs.

@invisiblelim,
If the existing SIM card U have is a Hotlink prepaid U can use that to purchase the i3GS. However, the 500MB data will be given to that particular SIM card.

@invisiblelim,
If the SIM card ur holding now is a postpaid card and U intend to purchase the i3GS through a prepaid plan, U will need to purchase a new SIM pack.

@lucas_lik,
We ored explained the i3GS will be activated using the prepaid/postpaid line which qualifies U to purchase the i3GS. Hence if U use the prepaid method U will need a prepaid SIM.

@invisiblelim,
If U have chosen the prepaid option to purchase then yes.

@lucas_lik,
As I've mentioned, the reasons for activating using a Hotlink/Maxis SIM is really very much a Maxis decision and for tracking of warranty purposes. The FOC 500MB data given on the Hotlink plans will only be applicable to SIMs which remains active during the 12 month period and not transferrable.

@bitbytes9,
Yes... U will need to activate the i3GS with whichever SIM you're using to make the purchase.

@shdwkillr,
Yes that is right but that option is not available for Maxis customers because like I mentioned, due to warranty issues.

@david101,
Yes that is absolutely right. Eh, since u've no interest in the free data, would U consider letting me have it? [better than benefitting the tong sampah, right?!] *smiles*

@ChillyPepper,
I'm not so sure, perhaps U could try. Some forummers have reported that it's still possible but there's been a handful who had problems. No harm trying anyways.

@idoblu,
Yes warranty claims are 1:1.

@acronyx,
If there are still remaining stocks after Maxis has delivered phones to ALL those who pre-booked, I'm sure U don't need to wait for Batch #2. Right now, dealers aren't able to gauge stock availability because Maxis hasn't revealed that information out [or at least according to my Maxis Insider - he did however indicate that there'll be sufficient to go around]

@manchurr,
What news are U waiting for?!

@Arapan,
To know which is a more popular colour, please check out http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/976337 I don't think Maxis will be giving you anything special after the launch so if U do have intentions to get the i3GS Y not jump on the bandwagon earlier - at least that way U get to experience the power of the i3GS biggrin.gif

Also, I've checked with my Maxis Insider re new data plans; all he could tell me was that there will be new plans introduced; he didn't tell me when that will happen though.
