Different company, my friend. AMEX is by American Express.
Visa is by Visa
Mastercard is by Mastercard.
AMEX is not widely acceptable in Malaysia compared to Visa and Mastercard.

I think for foreign bank, only UOB is promoting Visa Wave. As for local banks, Maybank and EON are in this. Both are also offering cards with Paywave capability on top of Visa Wave.
For Mastercard Paypass, it'll be CIMB. |

QUOTE(PinkGenie<3 @ Aug 26 2009, 06:20 PM) Hello all, I doubt you can use CC to repay a loan or hire purchase. Somebody did raise this before.I would like to know if I can use my Maybank credit card to pay HLB loan? And let say if I want to use Cash Advance, wat do I do? Go to the ATM? Get the money from the counter? Do I need to call them up or anything? Thanks a lot On the other way, it's totally unwise to perform any cash advance due to the exorbitant financial charge (in daily basis). You need a PIN for your CC to perform cash advance at ATM. Also bear in mind that there're an upfront financial charge for the withdrawal and financial charge will be imposed from the day you perform the withdrawal till you clear the withdrawn outstanding amount. |

QUOTE(aeronlim @ Sep 2 2009, 02:47 PM) I think there is no much different with the old one, all the benefit and privileges are the same, maybe will attract many MU fans lor Shariah compliant transaction for all Islamic based CC.It seems like the 5x treat point are the same, but add in some Islamic terms such as Syariah, takaful blah blah, i heard this type of card can't used to purchase beer and pork something that Islam prohibited right? This is an additional to existing Ikhwan series: Ikhwan AMEX and Ikhwan Visa. |

I also got 3 cards from MBB:
1. MBB Visa Classic (Black) 2. MBB Petronas Visa 3. MBB Ikhwan AMEX No problem of not cancelling previous card to get another CC from MBB. Wondering should I get a Mastercard from MBB. This post has been edited by David83: Sep 2 2009, 11:26 PM |

I found more details on the two newly launched Islamic based CC from Petronas MyMesra page:
http://www.mymesra.com.my/index.php?ch=mm_...mo_promo&ac=123 Alternatively, you can go to M2U for the Ikhwan CC: http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-Cards However, details for CIMB Islamic CC is still not available on CIMB page! |

MBB also enforced it recently.
They called it MSOS (Maybankard Secure Online Shopping) This post has been edited by David83: Sep 3 2009, 04:38 PM |

It has ended on 15 July. The remaining 6x points have been credited in last month.

QUOTE(namh @ Sep 4 2009, 09:25 PM) just want to get the clear information.. You'll only get 2x for Ikhwan AMEX or 1x for Ikhwan Visa. In this case, owning Ikwan Petronas Visa will get 5x TP. I now owned Maybank Ikhwan Mastercard.. recently, Maybank launched the Maybank Ikhwan PETRONAS Mastercard.. I think, it is much better if i change my card to the PETRONAS card.. because the normal card can not get any TP if you fill petrol at PETRONAS, but the new card can help you accumulate 5x TP, right? if yes, I want to change my card to the new Maybank Ikhwan PETRONAS Mastercard.. As for my case, I got the classic Maybank Petronas Visa first before getting the Ikhwan AMEX. |
