Oh sorry, stupid question here. Btw, if you can tolerate me, I have another stupid q. I already jailbreak my phone. Do I really need to unlock it again even though I'm using official unlock set (australia apple store set)? Because I saw some guide in this forum say you need to unlock either way.

Thanks in advance, for tolerating my noob q, lol

Another method by geohotz in unlock iPhone 3GS. His own unlocking method.

These are instructions on how to unlock the iPhone 3GS for use with any GSM cellphone carrier using PurpleSn0w. Geohot has posted stating that the purplesn0w unlock should improve issues with wifi, battery, and the unlock itself.

That's not a good sign. I hope you did a reboot after you uploaded the ipcc file. Btw, do you have Cellular Data Network column in Settings/General/Network?

bro,

try referring to DG's guide here. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1061070

I added a section that allows you to enter ANY carrier's MMS settings, and install them directly to your iPhone. All you need is the APN name. Do give it a shot, I was having trouble with my cellular data too, but this seems to have fixed it.

Yes, I know it's actually for tethering, but why not try? smile.gif

@ejslayer:
your case is kinda odd. my advise is for you restore, rejailbreak and ultrasn0w again but the decision is up to you. (since you've went through a lot getting it to work)

@ddww:
care to clarify more? as u ultrasn0w-ed, pop in digi and celcom sim, it worked while maxis and umobile doesn't?

jailbreaking isn't the same as unlocking.

Jailbreaking only allows the installation of 3rd party apps.

Unlocking allows you to use ANY GSM sim card. Where's your iphone from?

Wow, a US set that can support digi and celcom straightaway?

This really sounds fishy. would the resident experts here know if the phone was HARDWARE unlocked instead?
