i also got issue in the ram..it state that my ram only 2gb whereas as i understand i buy it for 4gb ram..it is shown in my computer properties..the G 105M is on 512mb with shared memory of 7++mb (in case my memory shared with the GC)....is it something to do with vista x32? and who else face the problem? need confirmation here...i want use all 4gb...

It used PM motherboard intel,ours used GS /GM motherboad.Even the same spefication the motherboard aren' same.so cannot lor.

Mine can see as 4GB in the system. You sure your model is 4736G? there is few 4736 model in market now.

And also my friend said he can verified the window on9 that show it's original windows. Me also curious when he brought it and when i check for him it's without the sticker at the back while mine have it. But the sales said the sticker dun have nvm, can verified online then can le.

Quite sure it is written 4736g in all over the casing (but in system only written 4736)..as i understand the code name g is to shown the lappy got dedicated graphic card...i have checked in the dxdiag (direct x diagnostic Tool) it written

page file: 1206mb used, 3121mb available (is it the limitation on window vista max is 3.25gb)

Approx. total memory 1268mb

add up total is about 3121mb

i had read though if you upgrade the vista to service pack 1 it will shown in the my computer properties you have 4gb but only utilities 3.25gb of ram ( http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-23993-m...m-on-a-32bit-os ) unless you using 64 system and not 32 system you can address all the 4gb ram.

the only thing is it because my memory had boost the GPU from 512mb to additional 1268mb? (the g 105m can support until 1791mb) hence it shown 2gb in my computer properties and why not 3.25gb....i need some one to confirm this

Yes and no.If you change hardware.Call microsoft to get new key.

Go to Acer Malaysia's website then go to the Check warranty section, type in your 22-digit serial no, it will display the model

Your computer properties should display 4GB RAM
Download CPUZ and double check to be sure.

the worst thing is cpuz is detect 2gb and my bios also detect 2gb...

I suggest you take back to the place you brought the laptop. Maybe one of the ram is not fit in nicely so it's not detected. Or the worse, the shop cheated you with less 2GB ram.

i would like to ask...how about the 4736G compare to Asus K40AB?

One is Intel C2D @ Geforce 105M GC, another is AMD Athlon X2@ ATI HD 4570 GC...just wondering which one is better....because want to get a new laptop soon....

For what purpose? If gaming is your priority , Then got for K40AB.
For battery stamina and less heat, go for 4736

For money value, i feel that 4736G better, 3 years warranty, 4GB, Ori windows VHP

weird, if no COA, how to prove the Windows is genuine, at least, in normal sense, most comes with COA, and the installation disc usually does not care about the key, auto activated.

Actually no way, when microsoft activation. it calculate based on your hardware.When change hardware the coa cannot be used twice.So call microsoft get new key.Change hardware limit 3.That's the quirck of microsoft itself.Adobe easy on activation and also microsoft office.
